Congrats on your new grandson---what a wonderful time in your life.. Here I am struggling..a dear family friends son died from an overdose--I am so sad for his mom... a good family with a tragic saddness...addiction has no predjudice..no salary, no IQ, no personality is exempt.... it has no boundries... Jason & cheryl & Jeanette it is YOU whom I give this quit for..your pain & sadness to the evil demon of which you tried but had no control...for my husband who also tried to fight him..I am standing tough to be a fighter and a winner against the demon of addiction....god I really didn't want to make this about all of this... I will stand tough,.. day 8..

Hi Glasgow--keep fighting the fight & keep your eye on the prize. Tomorrow will be better. Try to keep your mind and body busy if you can--it will help. Remember--you had bad days when you smoked too. Keep the quit!!!! ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 15 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 450 Amount Saved: $101.25 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 18 Mins: 41 Seconds: 47

24 Hours and Counting...

Hi Mel & Welcome Congrats on your decision to stop smoking....It's going to be a battle; but the good news is it is very do-able. Please come to this site often & learn from the wonderful wisdom and advice of those who have conquered the nico-demon before us; and those that are going through the same things that you are. Today is day 17 for me--and all though I have to say there were some difficult 'moments'--it has been pretty smooth sailing. Although new at this; here are the things that have helped me most on this journey: * ice water (constantly) * grapes--to snack on * exercise --whatever is for you (I do areobics & light weight lifting) * deep breathing * plenty of sleep * coming to this site multiple times throughout the day & evening You CAN DO this!!! Just be prepared to really believe that smoking is not an option no matter what happens..... And isn't it fun to say YIPPEEEEE I AM A NON-SMOKER!!!! Welcome! Deb ;) ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 16 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 480 Amount Saved: $108.00 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 20 Mins: 31 Seconds: 58

Hi Dazz, I am on the same med--and had a bit of trouble sleeping thee first two weeks. It has gotten better--I am getting enough rest; but not sleeping as soundly as before. I am on the sustained release (SR) so, it is best to take it in the morning. Give it a couple weeks & if it's not better check with your dr. PS--It is definitely helping me..
