Hello Everyone.

Hi Frankie & welcome to the March Mellows club! There is hope for everyone and if those who tried before us can do it--so can we!! I'm early in my quit too--but I do think each day is getting a little easier. I love being out of the smoking prison--always making sure I had the cigs, the matches, a place to smoke etc...I love not being stinky..& being able to breathe better. Hang in there with us...WE can do this..... ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 19 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 570 Amount Saved: $128.25 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 5 Mins: 37 Seconds: 55

In the Beginning I kept a Journal

WOW Blue Cloud--that was really powerful & touching. Thank you for sharing this. It is a fact --we come to believe that cigarettes are our best friend--& we use them to help us through happy and sad times. Thanks for giving me faith that this can be accomplished. {{{hugs}}} My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 19 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 570 Amount Saved: $128.25 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 6 Mins: 5 Seconds: 24

I want a cig

N2 Psych, Thanks for the thought provoking post--I have pretty much used every excuse listed there (how sad is that)--so trying to protect my precious habit. However, taking one day or one minute (whatever the day calls for) at a time--I am learning that life without nicotine is possible & even very GOOD most moments. I Choose Life--please walk this journey with us--hang in there & keep your eye on the prize & just remember NOPE...You're in control ;) Sending {{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}; Debbie My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 20 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 600 Amount Saved: $135.00 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 8 Mins: 16 Seconds: 36

Hi Everybody

Welcome Tiny & Congrats on the 16 day quit. YEAH--You're a non-smoker!!! I have found SSC to be really helpful in the battle against nicotine. It is great to see & talk to all those who have been successful in this battle. Also great to have support of those going through the same things that you may be experiencing. There's so much to read & so much helpful information on this site. WE CAN DO THIS--JUST SAY N.O.P.E (Not One Puff Ever).... Welcome to you--Deb ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 20 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 600 Amount Saved: $135.00 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 8 Mins: 24 Seconds: 24

Change of Season?

Penguin, Think of all you have been through to get this far in your quit. I have found so much comfort and knowledge in your posts & I thank you for that. Now I am asking you to ask yourself this--- if smoking was so great why did you quit in the first place? Remember those feelings of guilt and inadequacy because you smoked & the intimidation of the thoughts of giving them up? You now KNOW they are NOT your best friend & you need to fimly remind yourself of this. As for your dad, try to give him hope by not going back there. You know he's watching you and thinking--'what a great job she's doing, I'll have to try again'...now be his inspiration Take it one minte, one hour at a time today. Remember NOPE.... Tomorrow is another day--& I promise it will be easier... {{{{{hugs}}}}}} Deb My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 22 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 660 Amount Saved: $148.50 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 13 Mins: 21 Seconds: 56

Here I go!

Welcome Carlarae, I too have made multiple attempts to quit in the past; but I am feeling more confident this time with the help of the SSC. Come here often, read the posts, post if you'd like & watch all the success stories--I find them such an inspiration. So far, the interventions I have found most helpful in the war to remain nicotine free have been ice water, exercise & coming to this site multiple times throughout the day. I also remind myself frequenty that I am one puff away from going back to a pack & 1/2 a day just like that. Looking forward to smoke free days & chats with you on SSC. ;)Deb My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 23 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 690 Amount Saved: $155.25 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 15 Mins: 42 Seconds: 53
