Hey All - How's everyone on this Tuesday evening???
I have had some discomfort in my chest. Right now I got a WHOPPER of a sore throat. I was sick last week as well and basically slept it off for an entire day. It was some stomach thing my daughter gave me, not related to the quit. I am eating well, taking vitamins and resting at night. During the day since I am off work this week, I have been exercising twice a day. I still feel pretty well, but as said above, often wonder what others are experiencing. I also have times during the day (times that I used to smoke) that my mouth waters. In in turn, I water it back!!! LOL. I am floating from drinking so much water.
I am on off work this week and I was a little worried at first about being home becuz at work I smoked maybe twice a day. Then I read something that made complete sense here on the boards. I can always smoke, it is not easier in one place than another or alone as opposed to a crowd. It's a choice. My choice is made. Now I just have to keep the reasons why right in front of me. I am suspicious by nature, therefore don't trust that things will happen on their own. It thrills me that I can make this good thing happen, and that I have to do it myself. You can ask ANYONE, Virgo's always like to take care of things themselves. Control freak, I like to think that in this case, it's working in my favor. :O) Keep the faith.

Colleen:
50 Days is SO FABULOUS. I am totally happy for you on this accomplishment but at the same time am sad that you are not liking yourself today. I have days (especially when I smoked) that I did not like myself and everyday I have not smoked has never been as bad as the guilt and shame of smoking! Be good to yourself and take care. I know it's difficult but do something that you really enjoy,it's important and be proud of what you have done. You're aa STAR! Smoking was never your friend, just something that was killing you -- smoking takes life away from your days and days away from your life.

Cuddles, I hope your mom is okay. Parents are tough - my mom still smokes, but as we know, they have to want it for themselves for it to be successful. Hang in there and we will send our best thoughts and prayers to you & your Mom. Maybe if you told her what a fun crowd we are here at the SSC she would come join us :)
Take care,

Hey Iwin:
Great news and a good confidence builder for you! Awesome.
I really like the Eclipse Cinnamin Inferno gum. Down to less than a pack a day, *HA HA* -- I find that I need it less as well, but good to know it's there.
Keep up the Fabulous quit Iwin :)

Yesterday I got an up close and personal look at my heart while it was working extremely hard via EKG (ultrasound). I had a stress test at the hospital (among a million other tests). All I could think about was the more I looked at this and listened to the cardiologist telling me everything looked really great was that I was extremely happy that I quit smoking cigarettes and worked my treadmill. Being in the hospital is a HUGE reality check for those of us on the "outside" anyway. Before this trip to the hospital, to keep my quit going all I had to think about was what my grandpa looked like in the final stages of lung cancer. It keeps me on track and defends me against "junkie talk". While seeing him was the scariest thing I have ever seen in my life, it helped me realize I want my end to be different. At that time I was too young and stupid to realize that could happen to anyone - not just "old" people. Being healthy is all there is folks, because without it, there IS nothing else. Wishing you all the best of health and inspiration wherever you can find it. By the Way --Did I tell you that YOU LOOK MARVELOUS not smoking today?????

Hi Fish, I am really sorry to hear this and for the way you're feeling. Please get yourself together and come back with us in this fight that never seems to end. We don't judge, we encourage and hold each other up when they need it. Our arms are stretched out for you - grab on and don't look back at the past. Move forward as you were before you "stepped in it". You have my best wishes for extra strength and you have the will to quit smoking, I have seen it.
Best,
CobenFan (Christine M)

Cuddles,
I hope things are looking a litte brighter for you. I have learned that encouragement and support is something you can send through a PC. You have all of ours. It's a crummy time for you and while you know it will pass, it's TOUGH. But so ARE YOU!!! You will make this quit stick, -- the icky part will go away and you will be SOOOOO happy. Try to stay with that thought.
Hang in there with us.
