Does anyone have chest pains?

18 years ago 0 34 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I got my results back and my x-rays were fine. I have a respitory (spell?) infection that's all. It's very painful today but I'm glad it's nothing serious. Thanks for all the support! Anyone who experiences anything abnormal should go see the doc. right away. Liz, you are right on the money. I went to the doctors and they did an EKG which was normal. I am going in tomorrow morning to get a chest X-Ray. My doc. thinks it might be a cold coming on but just to be on the safe side I'm going ahead with the X-Ray. I will feel much better just to find out what it is. I will keep you guys updated once I get the results. Thanks for all the support. I'm taking part in a government study on quitting smoking and they provided a phone number for the local cancer society. Called them and they said that this was rather normal, but if it persists for weeks, then have it checked out. She said that we're used to taking deep breaths in the smoking process and my body is adjusting - could be a sign that my lungs are healing. My gut feeling was not to be alarmed about this, but thanks again for the post, and the word of caution. Gary

Elle, I'm glad you posted this. I too have been experiencing a tightness in the chest that lasts for hours at a time. I have a very slight shortness of breath with this feeling. I thought it was just a withdrawal symptom. I meditate twice most days and the feeling passes as I get into the meditative state.

Elle, that great it's not something really serious. Spend the weekend just taking care of yourself and get better. Hi Elle, It's probably nothing to worry about, but I would definately go to the Docs. as soon as you can get an appt. If you don't you will have that small worry nagging at the back of your brain. You don't need any unneccessary stresses right now. Keep Strong and let us know how you're doing. Hi Elle- This post is a little late, so I hope by now you have went to see your doctor. (He or she should do an EKG, maybe a chest xray and depending on your age set you up for a stress test.) Certainly chest pains/pressure can be related to many things besides heart problems, but it is always advisable to get it checked out. I hope you're doing well-keep us informed Liz (RN-ICU) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 12 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 201 Amount Saved: $42 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 21 Mins: 7 Seconds: 27

Good decision, Elle. If nothing else, you'll find out you're OK and that's one less thing to worry about. Please let us know the outcome.
