I can't avoid this topic for ever........

Hi Charlie Girl: Congratulations on your 90+ days of success. How Awesome! If you ease into monitoring your food and adding a walk to your day, it will get easier and you will look forward to it. I try not to think too much about what I eat in an obsessive manner, but concentrate more on what I an do to burn calories. Wash some floors, walk the dog (believe me, my dog is really getting into shape too, I think she hates me not smoking! LOL) I also got lucky and my dad gave me his old treadmill, so will get on that for 20 minutes when I can. Have enough energy left to do stuff after quiting is not always easy. Some days I feel like I don't want to do anything, but the exercising will give you more energy. Don't forget to take your vitamins and drink your water, it makes you feel full all the time! Take care, Hangin In, Not Givin In -- CobenFan (Christine M) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 18 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 316 Amount Saved: $63 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 17 Mins: 17 Seconds: 34

My 30 Day Reward - YOUR REWARDS?

Hi, What A NICE DAY IT IS ! Healer - I knew I really liked you, I also enjoy QVC and have not bought anything in awhile but would definitely use it to get an AWESOME reward. I know the bracelet you have, and think that's fabulous. Then I read Shevie's post and just today I went to Barnes & Noble Bookstore today with my latte and browsed in the store for over an hour and never even thought about having a smoke! It was great. I was looking for a good book, since I already read The Easy Way to Quit Smoking a couple of months ago. Maybe you would know a good meditation type book for daily "back up" I love any positive reinforcement I get. I am going to pick up a book of quotes called Never Scratch a Tiger with a Short Stick, cuz I enjoy that type of book as well. I have already got myself some raspberry buttercreams from Fannie May and some new perfume called Hannae Mori, which smells fabulous! I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU and your new Ripka piece, I can tell you cherish it already and that you are heading in the right direction. IT'S ALL GOOD HEALER. Take care and Enjoy! Remember, always tell yourself at the end of the day that you're a WINNER. Hello

Hi Fran, I'm happy to be on board here to extend a welcome and to send congrats over to you on your new quit! My quit is pretty new as well. My kids only noticed my husband and I quit the first day and never asked me about it again. They think - "OH, OKAY I ASKED MOM & DAD TO QUIT SMOKING AND THEY DID". To them, that's all there is to it. It's like when they don't get ice cream one day after dinner, kids know NO addictions. Which was a HUGE factor for me, I never want to see my kids go through any addiction. Best to you and hope your hubby is very supportive ! Great job so far, Keep up the Excellent work. How to strengthen lungs?

Hello Me! I don't know if you are a man or woman, but if you are a man, ask your wife -- or if you're a woman and have given birth, try the relaxation "focus" breathing that you learned in LaMaze. It's pain management through breathing meditation (sort of). It's helping me with exercise now and I also used it the first week when I was about to go crazy for a smoke. I have not stopped using it for "bringing myself down a notch" and my BABY is 9! I hope this helps, it takes time for your body to "re-learn" to be healthy and react to new workouts. Best to you - Hangin In, Not Givin In, CobenFan (Christine M) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 16 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 286 Amount Saved: $56 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 13 Mins: 24 Seconds: 35

down down down

Riverdale Man, Maybe you just need a nap, some of your favorite food, a funny movie (and do I mean FUNNY!) Do something that makes you say "Yep, life is good". I just got back from Fannie May Chocolate store to get some Raspberry buttercreams cuz I felt like rewarding myself today after walking my dog for a 1/2 mile. You hang in there and those blues will go away. Also an uplifting book is a great choice for times like these. Keep up the Excellent job, sending you sunshine from Indiana. We look up to you as an "upperclassman!" It's not all kittens and puppies, but sometimes IT IS!!!!! ;) Hangin In Not Givin In, CobenFan (Christine M).
