Struggling,
Look at my meter. I felt like absolute garbage and just had to grin & bear it, you'll get through this. You will feel worse before you feel better, It's not magic. It's very important to drink 8-10 glasses of water a day, you will be sick of it, but it will get the toxins out!!!!! I am on day 16 and still drinking water like a horse. Yep, I'm bloated my throat is a little sore, but I am NOT under any circumstances going to light a cigarette and give back to the nicodemon what is so definitely MINE! Protect your quit, you have endured the worst portion of this thing. The road starts to tilt up and the sun starts to shine on your face.... Get out and let some steam off.

Hey Struggling,
Things probably seem really crummy, TRY Super hard like Lady said and reach down DEEP and count the good things going on with you and keep the focus there. If it was easy NOBODY would smoke, right? Everyone has told you right, good days and bad days. Hell, within one day you will have good 5 minutes, bad 10 minutes, etc. Keep on the task at hand. It's NEVER okay to have a re-lapse if you decided this was the QUIT!!!! Plus you are at day 4, -- BE the WINNER FOR TODAY and Hang tough. When I hit the bed at night, I tell myself I am a winner today! And I am proud of my little bit of time of no smoking. Everyone here makes me feel great about it too and they are not shy about telling people - which is GREAT!
Don't let that little voice tell you it's okay to slip. Starting over again would be just about the worst punishment I can think of, that's why I spend a lot time reading and learning here at SSC. HANG TOUGH, you got what it takes, Refuse to Lose, CobenFan (Christine M)

Sunflower,
Your friend should have been dancing a jig for you. Friends are proud and NEVER judge, only encourage. This person is jealous and will get over it. They will probably come back with an apology soon. But even if it doesn't happen that way - don't let it take away from what you have accomplished. It's as big as life, you're saving your own life. AWESOME.
My advice -- there are a TON of nice non smoking people in California, go get a couple of new friends who will be delighted that you have made the decision to quit and support you all the way.
Keep on keepin on

Hi All,
GEEZ - all I do is eat, it keeps me happy and not smoking. Although I have always eaten a lot!! How do you guys find time to run the treadmill and do walks? By the time I get home from work have dinner, walk dog and do kids homework and lunches, it's 9 pm! I am seriously thinking I need a treadmill for my home. My kids would use it too, they love to walk but in the Midwest the weather is usually crummy if it's not June July or August. Healer, I am happy for you back in your jeans. I am starting to spill over a couple of pairs of dress pants. Cannot afford all new work clothes, so HOPE THIS GOES AWAY SOON!!! I have a business trip next month and have to be in the public eye all day, don't want to be the BLIMPIE CHICK!
LOL. So, suffice it to say, I'm feeling SWELL about not smoking but concerned about all things gastric! CobenFan (Christine M)
