Hi K:
Congratulations and welcome to your NEW firends. I don't know any of these people well, but they have already helped me more than my REAL friends. They will listen, understand and most of them have already been at that place in the path that is good bad and ugly. I will send out all my good vibes to you, it was a good, relatively easy day for me not to smoke. That comes and goes like the wind right now. Keep your guard up and don't trust that little voice that talks back. Stay good and healthy. Drink a ton of water, it really does help. Hangin tough :)

Hi Phoenix
GREAT JOB and congrats on maintaining your quit. I also read MR. Carr's book "The EASY Way to Quit Smoking". While I "got" what he was saying, and a lot of it makes sense, it was not enough to get me to motivate myself enough to start the quit for me. I eventually motivated myself to try the laser therapy. Do you think the book helped you??? I can't find my copy, I think now that I have started on my quit journey that I would like to read it again.
Hi Meg,
Thanks for your kind words. Basically the laser therapy can be compared to accupuncture with a laser. They put in on certain points on your ear, wrist and nose for both your left and right side. A very relaxing experience. Everyone is different, while I felt a sense of "euphoria" my husband said he did not feel anything at all. It's expensive at $300 a treatment. They give you a coupon for a booster within the first 6 months. IfF you are really struggling you can go back in the first 10 days after treatment. This for me totally takes the EDGE off - I haven't wanted to kill anyone yet and seem to be rater calm for a normally hyper type person. This does not take away the desire to quit. It takes care of the physical part, it's the mental part that is the devil of the addiction. ChristineM (CobenFan)
You can purchase Smoke Eliminator (DAP is manufacturer) at Home Depot. This spray works well after you thoroughly clean the entire vehicle. It's an aerosol spray that will also clear up the air in your garage if that was your "smoking room".Text
Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself so others do not feel alone in their obsession with how much they think about smoking. Or Not smoking in this case! What a head game the whole thing is. I'm being tough and so far have not given in. Would like to hear about what others have gone through at various stages of their quit.
:)
Thanks for the positive words, most appreciated. My husband and I went to cold laser therapy to quit and are only on day 4 so we are still in a very tough spot which I imagine will last quite some time!!! None of my friends smoke, so they really don't "GET IT" like an ex-smoker does.
I agree with Bubbles, there is time you allocated to smoke that now seems like "what do I do"??? Take the dog/kids for a long walk, do the big puzzles that take up the whole table, re-arrange your closets. While at work, I climb the stairs when I used to haul myself downstairs and outside to smoke. If ever there was a great reminder of why you quit, being able to climb 14 flights of stairs and breathing easy is a HUGE ONE!!! I'm making this work for me. I will take my breaks and just do something other than smoke!
Hi Nikki - I am pretty new here too and find this to be very educational and real. This is a great place to find help from others who have been through what you are experiencing. I really like to hear what helped them get to where they are. All my best wishes to you in your quest of being a non-smoker.
Best, ChristineM (CobenFan) :)

Share with the class - are the first two weeks the worst???? I am looking forward to each day one at a time but wonder how long it will take to feel less pressured!
Hi Aerrin,
I am rather new to this forum and have learned a lot just by reading the folks who are further down the path on their smoke free lives. How are things going with you? I hope it's been okay, I think that's the best you can hope for at the start of the process. I quit on a weekend which is harder for me when I am home there is way more time to think about smoking. At work, it's not really an option. Best of luck to you and feel free to share with the other newbies on the board, we're all in this together!!!!!
