Lost the plot, but i will be back

Stash away all you have learned, don't dwell on what you did wrong, add it to your list of "what I learned". Start a new journal and make the new quit happen as soon as you are equipped to do so mentally. Please don't say it's not "the right time" EVERYDAY IS A GOOD DAY TO QUIT SMOKING. I said I was going to quit smoking "soon" it took me about 4 years to try. I'm sorry now that I waited so long to start my quit! Come back and join us, there is strength in numbers. The "Non-smoker" ????????

Cybrduke is right on - You smoke one cig day and you're a SMOKER. Addiction does not care if you smoke only 1 or if it's 39 a day. "Part Timers" - my mother in law is one of these -- she works all day and comes home at night after dinner and smokes about 2 cigarettes. I told her years ago that if I could go through the whole day not smoking, I would not bother lighting up only 2 a night. I would quit, it seems crazy to me, but addiction is like that. You may only smoke a little, but it still has the horrible impact on your mind health and body. There are a lot of closet smokers out there, I had times where I did not want people to know I smoked so I would "get through" the meeting, activity or whatever and go home in my garage and smoke 3 in a row to "make up" for lost time. Everyone can smell smoke on you, smokers and non-smokers. If you're lying, you're not even close to trying to quit becuase you think you don't smoke. :confuse: Now that her son and I have quit, I hope my mother in law will give up those couple of cigarettes. 2 hours and counting

Milaya, Drink, drink, drink the water- everytime you want to smoke, drink! And keep moving, take a walk, run or do a puzzle (hands & mind busy). JUST DON'T SMOKE. Get out your list of reasons you quit and carry in your pocket. Everytime the crave hits, pull it out and read it out loud. This is a tough thing to do - if it were easy, there would be no smokers. Hang in there and be TOUGH. It does get better. We're here - so gently tell your daughter you need to use the PC while she plays with something else. This takes top priority right now. Be good to yourself and your quit. If You Are Proud - Post your Stats!

Hi Shelly, Glad I finally caught up with you and that things are going good for you. I am pretty well, just think I may have a cold. Feeling a little blah but not enough to crush my upbeat spirit when it comes to my smoke free lifestyle. I'll join this party late and tout my stats a little. Take care, CobenFan (Christine M) ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 19 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 331 Amount Saved: $66.5 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 19 Mins: 16 Seconds: 5
