JohnBoy,
Today is the first day of your quit - congratulations. It's not easy but it's totally worth it. My first week was rough but not as bad as I thought it would be, There's usually one time of day (an individual thing as well) that really is the hardest. For me it was driving home after work with no smoke. I now have tropical lifesavers and a much better smelling car. Stay very focused on the good things that are happening to you. Drink - drink drink 8-10 glasses of water a day this IS very important to flush out the toxins and also keep you from smoking - no smoking, just drinking water. It works, I am still doing a about 6 glasses a day. Plus, no time to smoke becuz you're always in the bathroom LOL.

KahneKrazy,
COngratulations on your decision to quit! You are unfamiliar with what to do while you don't smoke. GUess what? You don't smoke anymore -- so now you get to do whatever you want when you want!!!! Take a walk, if its break time, go visit another co-worker who does not smoke. Call someone who supports you. Crochet, work a crossword - just no smoking. There is so much more time to do what I want now that I don't smoke. You're not missing a THING! I walk the stairs at work when I used to "break for a smoke" and at home, I get on the treadmill and walk my dog. Fitness is awesome. Water, Water, Water, I am still doing at least 6 glasses a day. It really does help. Hang in there, it's SO worth how you will feel! Welcome to SSC!

Hello Funky0311
Just my opinion, I don't know if it's appropriate to say to a new quitter that you can sit back and laugh. Maybe saying what's on your mind can be misinterpreted by others. We know you understand how it feels, however, remember how sensitive you were????? A kinder, gentle support is what the new folks want/need. Many congratulations to you on your 80 days.

Great Job So Far Ron - The Mower Dilemma Rages on --
How About- IPOD SHUFFLE - Bouncing around is no worry, they are built for joggers. You will hear it over the mower and it's random tunes you choose yourself. You can sing if you want to. Me, I don't sing cuz it scares my kids. LOL.

Thanks gang, I kind of have my voice back a little, hard to tell at 5:30 am but am headed out for work soon. Glad to hear I am not the only one with illness. Wish I could sleep in today (don't we all) but that won't pay the bills. Right now I don't have pimples so hopefully I can escape that one! My voice sounds terrible, maybe I am getting a new one -- no more "Gravel Gertie" smokers voice! LOL. RedRosie: I recommmend you read No Second Chance by Harlan Coben first, although there is no "special order" just read them randomly. Mr. Coben also does a series of books with a character who is a sports rep named Myron Bolitar. I have also read these, but don't like them as well as his regular books. I am counting the days (4/25) til the new book comes out. Make sure you let me know what you think :) Have a nice day all!
