I hope we wake up rested and refreshed. Will be checking in tomorrow to see how you got along. Sweet dreams.

Bgaine...I wish I had words of wisdom for you but I am too early in my quit. I was on the road quite abit today so I did a fair bit of thinking ... right now I am using all my tools that I have kept handy in the past when going through difficult times - small, healthy meals (some unhealthy ones if I need them), exercise, nap when I'm tired, deep breathing, get support from others, etc. .... and then I started thinking....gee what I am going to do when I have a REAL crisis!! (I'm already using my tools)
I decided that I will go through the crisis just like this past week. One day at a time. If I fail, I will remember all that I have achieved in this first part of my journey (and I will not beat myself up) I will go back when I am ready and use everything I've learned so far. If I succeed, I will celebrate that fact that I am so much stronger than I ever thought I was.
This much be such a hard time for you. We will be thinking of you.

Hi Jan
I'm glad you are feeling better. Left you another message on your 7 day thread! I am glad you are celebrating, i'm glad that you have wonderful beagles and a great family that are surviving. I'm also glad that sometimes you are just as cranky as me (so I don't feel so bad) Last nite, Brian told me to turn to Channel 522 and it was a show about OATMEAL! I said "Oatmeal...why the h*** would I want to watch a show about oatmeal??!!" Well...really...why would I? lol He just thought that I would be interested because I had just finished telling him that I was tired of eating porridge.
Anyway, he's surviving and so am I! My cat has never had so much attention! He will be sooooooooo spoiled by the time I get back to my "old self" or more likely on to my "new self"
Keep taking care!

Looking back at old posts...you know there was always a part of me that didn't want my friends to quit either. That awful junkie thinking.
I don't know if you will get this message but I was so impressed with how you handled the whole situation. I hope you have an amazing weekend at the spa with your sister...You sure do deserve it!
Applause for hannaher!!

Welcome to ssc nutsy. I'm pretty new myself...but I'm learning every day. I read all the new posts. I post when I'm happy. I post when I'm cranky and I use every tool I can get my hands on. There are so many wonderful people in this room and there is always someone to answer a question, share your misery or celebrate your achievements! Welcome and all the best on the first day of your quit!

Welcome TJ! So glad you are here. To be honest, I started my quit to get my supposed failures out of the way. The last time I tried was 17 years ago and two weeks ago for 4 days. Well, I at 7 days so now and I'm not so sure I was to practice failing (is that strange thinking or what?!) I've wanted to quit for so many years and for the first time I think it might be possible.
You are in a good place! Come often! Post often and let us know how you are doing!

Wow - here I am, shortly after 7 sitting at my computer. Have made orange juice, coffee, started laundry and did 3 birthday cards already. I promised my hubbie that I wouldn't wake him up (so I guess vacuuming is out of the question).
I NEVER wake up without pressing the snooze button at least 3 times and didn't have to get up until 8:30 as I'm working later tonight.
Today feels like a good day! 3 days down....12775 more to go (calculations based on being a successful quitter)

Hi Al
I'm a new quitter too so I've been watching your posts. Boy this quitting business is a roller coaster rider. You sound so motivated, I know that you are going to do this! All the best to you and your wife!

Hi Jan
Feeling good today! It's 7:30 now but I've been awake since 6. This quitting thing is changing my whole system around (I have NEVER been a morning person but I have already been up, done birthday cards, laundry, made o.j. and coffee) Heck - next thing you know, I'll be one of those morning joggers!
Anyway - my day is starting off well. Hope yours is too!
