Quit today on 9/11

Hi Jan Feeling good today! It's 7:30 now but I've been awake since 6. This quitting thing is changing my whole system around (I have NEVER been a morning person but I have already been up, done birthday cards, laundry, made o.j. and coffee) Heck - next thing you know, I'll be one of those morning joggers! Anyway - my day is starting off well. Hope yours is too! Hi Jan I just wanted to talk to someone who is at the same stage as I am. I quit on Sept 11th too. I didn't think about the significance of the date until I came home from work that day. I haven't tried to quit for 17 years but last week, I decided it was time. I quit for 4 days and started again on Saturday. I decided to try again on Monday. The first 2 days were okay but I am having a terrible day today. I swear, if there was a cigarette in this house right now I would smoke it! Hope your quit is going well! Good luck! I quit on 9/11/06 too. I found this forum way before my quit date and the helpful suggestions that I read help make my journey into the smoke free world easier.

I'm doing OK, and I really love seeing 1 full day of not smoking on my quit meter! My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 50 Amount Saved: $9 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 4 Mins: 22 Seconds: 2

Windy I hear you loud and clear. I went to bed at 8pm last night just so I could forget about smoking. The past 24 hours have been tough, but I will persevere, even if I have to sleep the day away! One thing I know is that I don't want to have to go through "hell week" again, I've been there too many times. So Windy, I hope you're feeling better and remember to take it one small step at a time. Cheers, Jan My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 98 Amount Saved: $27 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 8 Mins: 35 Seconds: 41

I just wanted to say that I chose today as my quit date because I am very grateful to have the opportunity to quit smoking - the victims of 9/11 did not. It puts things in perspective. My heart goes out to all the families who lost loved ones. Thanks Marie. I have lots of water, sugarfree candies etc. I really like the straw idea, I think I'll give that a try. Anything to keep the quit going strong.
