Hi Tiffany
It's it great when we recognize the progress we have made. What a great gift to your son!
And you are right, we are so lucky to have all of the encouragement that we get from this room. As far as the cranky part goes, you are welcome to join the "Cranky Club". There are many of us that do it very well!
You sound like you are doing a great job and focussing on keeping positive! Way to go!

Hey Hopeless...I always love to hear from you. Yep...t.v. and bed seem to be my best friends right now...although we are going out tonight to see a new baby kitten (possible new family member??)
Glad I'm not the only one who has cravings while on the patch.

Thank you so much. Had the STRONGEST CRAVE tonight...but now I'm drinking my green tea, and enjoying my hard candies and it's going away. It is such a relief to get reassurance that my life will start again (except better!) I don't want to lose my quit and you guys keep me going.

So glad u bumped this. I needed the laugh! ...plus when I succeed I need to remember how important the POSITIVE support and encouragement helped me through my battle.
Those who were smug or critical just made me dig my heals in further and put little cracks in the confidence that I needed to do this.

Hopeless (Are our brains attached??!!) Actually, in Canada smoking is less fun...bars, homes, restaurants are all non-smoking so you need to go outside by yourself. I have spent too many hours outside smoking when I could have been dancing, eating, socializing and having fun.
I miss having "fun" right now because I am having to avoid some of those activities that I loved the most. Nothing I like better that opening a bottle (or 2 or 3) of wine with good friends/relatives etc. I know that it isn't going to be AS fun the first time I do this after quitting because it will be a trigger for me.
But those people who have quit before assure me that life will be FUN again.
I say we have a HUUUUUUUUGE party when we get through this and celebrate!

Sparky - I am just glad to see you here. You can quit when you are ready but DON'T LEAVE US!! It is depressing when you work so hard and something and put so much of yourself into something and it doesn't work out the way you planned. Sometimes life just bites us in the butt.
Maybe you need a little time to build up your confidence....but I know you want to quit. I just know you will do it when the time is right for you. Get ready........set........GO!!

Welcome tsikos! You have picked the right place to be. It's not easy but it's possible. What a great promise you have made to your daughter.
I really didn't think I could do it either but I'm still here. Keep reading, keep posting and take advantage of the great tools and the great advice you can get at this site (plus you can rant and rave whenever you want too!)
Glad to have you here!
