What's Good? LIFE!

Just wanted to check in as I haven't been on here too much due to all the things that have been going on. I have hit the 30 day mark and couldn't feel better about myself or my life! I never thought quitting smoking would provide me with such a new outlook on life. I feel better, I smell better, and truly am a better person! I now know that the hardest part is over, but I still have to keep my guard up to ensure my success. Thank you to everyone that has helped in my journey so far, it is greatly appreciated. Thank you to all that provided their inspiration, motivation, encouragement and wisdom, I really couldn't have done it without you!!!!! I am still so excited to live each day with smoking and I truly know I don't want to and that I can do this. I had a very difficult exam to write to get my mutual fund licence and I did it without smoking. I wrote it yesterday and feel great today either way, but I have to contribute some of that to not smoking! Thanks for letting me share. Have a wonderful smoke free day today! Mary is checking in

Great job on making the decision to quit! Allen Carr has some amazing books and I'm sure hearing an actual live voice will be of greater help in recognizing that you really don't need to smoke to enjoy life! One day at a time, you can do this. I struggled at first too but was determined not to let the nic demon bring me down. It's been over a month now, and I can't tell you how rewarding it is to feel the benefits of quitting smoking. Come here often, read, post and reward yourself! This site is amazing for support, encouragement and motivation. Gum is great, I went through 6 full size packs in the first month, make sure you have lots of healthy snacks and cold water on hand for when those cravings hit. Remember you can do this! Keep the Quit! I want a Cig!

Well you already know that smoking or craving does not consume your life as you have demonstrated on your quit meter. I think the cravings will always be there to a certain point to remind you how strong you are to get over this addiction. Have a game plan in place as to what you will do when a craving comes on as it can be easy to be caught off guard once a good amount of time has passed. Remember NOPE as this really can lead you back to smoking and there is no point in letting all your hard work go to waste. You don't really want to go through this all again do you? I really do believe that the one puff can lead back to smoking as the nic demon will try to get you to crave again even from that 1 puff. You are strong and have many days behind you at this point, so just think logically about it instead of letting the craving think for you! Like I said, I think cravings will be around for a long time, but that doesn't mean that you want to give into them. Just think how much easier it is to snub those thoughts away today than it was in the first week! You've come a far way and you know that you can do this! Good luck to you and remember N.O.P.E! November quitters

Congrats on 1 month Moss! Isn't it an amazing feeling! The toughest part is over and now you can really look forward to enjoying life as a non smoker! Looks like the 3 of us have a lot in common, especially quitting! I look forward to checking in with you guys as we go through this journey together. You might be right about this being the only way that a monthly quit group starts although check back here to make sure our wonderful tech support hasn't answered back. There may actual be some sort of side post or group for each month. If there isn't already, any names that you would suggest? Novembreathers is all I came up with and something tells me that it already exists, plus I'm not all too creative and would love a fantastic name for all our November quitters! Stay in touch and have a wonderful day! Buddy Lists

Where do you go to view who you have added to your buddy list? I'm usually pretty good with computers but I can't tell if i'm not seeing it or if there is a broken link somewhere.
