People can say many mean things when they are angry. Don't take it to heart and remember that this does not give you a reason to smoke. She was probably just trying to get a rise out of you and get under your skin. It's the same with any other thing that someone throws in your face when you are upset, angry, etc. Don't let it get to you. Next time you talk I'm sure she will recognize that it wasn't a nice thing to say and I am sure she is supportive of you quitting.
Don't get discouraged by someone else, encourage yourself!

It does get easier, so hang it there! You can do this otherwise you wouldn't be doing it already!!!!Make sure you have a good action plan in place like water, gum, distractions, a buddy and this site are all great things to help you.
Just imagine what your life will be like smoke free and then soon you'll be a non smoker thinking of how stupid it was to be a smoker.
Good luck, I know you can do this!

Oh my gosh Moss, week 1 without a doubt was much harder than week 2. Your body starts to adjust without smoking and all side affects start to lessen. It's funny how your body goes through a shock period and you just feel like crap all the time, but it is so worth it in the end! I tracked my cravings for the last 2 weeks through the workbook and I noticed a huge difference. I think the initial withdrawl was the worst part, but then you get use to not going outside in the -30 degree weather, smoking before you actually open your eyes in the morning, etc, etc. Today I was grateful that I was able to kick this habit, as it was freezing cold outside! The longer I stay quit for the better I feel and the more excited I get that I am a strong enough person to do this, no matter what a stupid little cancer sticks tries to tell me.
Starting week 3 this week and can't tell you how amazing I feel. I'm dealing with all my stress (writing exam to get mutual funds licence on Dec. 11th, getting laser eye surgery on Dec. 13th and then all the x-mas shopping, baking, planning and entertaining) without smoking! I feel amazing and am very glad to hear that you are hanging in there too! As each day passes it gets easier to not smoke! I heard that it takes an average of 21 days to get rid of a habit. In this case it may take longer but as long as you know why you don't want to smoke, and you shouldn't just smoke because of this or that reason, then you can stay quit!
We can do this together! keep checking in and posting, this site still gives me inspiration and motivation each and every day and I look to others and their posts to help me in this journey.
Congrats on getting through the toughest part, you can do this, just don't forget to reward yourself. (gotta love that part!)
Have an amazing smoke free day!

P.S. look at all of the non smokers in your life (home, work, etc) to see that you don't need to smoke to deal with everyday life. We had an addiciton but it can be broken, and there is no need to be weak. We are strong in so many aspects of our lives that we just need to relate that strength to being a quitter!
Moss, I am going to add you to my buddy list, as I always appreciate your posts!
Congrats to everyone on here that has decieded that a life without smoking is the life you want to live!

All of you are too funny! I've been having the same problem although I noticed it is getting better along with everything else. I think the patch was also making me smell a little (or it was the toxins coming out of my body maybe) but I finally noticed today how much better I feel inside and out. My hair smelled nice all day today. It was nice cuz it use to smell like stale old smoke hair. I hope the gas and all other side affects of this go away, I still think it's so strange how your body does that, but oh well I'm grateful to have to deal with it!
I'm all in for joining the fart forum. wwppphhhffffff that's my guess although I agree that it depends on type and length. (you guys make me do crazy things!)
Much love and here's to another smoke free day!

I'm on th patch and have had some odd ball dreams as well, but nothing bad enough that I want to take the patch off at night. I've heard this is pretty common so all we can do is hope for sweet dreams!

Do something to distract yourself. Chew a piece of gum, drink some cold water or go for a walk. You have already come this far, why turn back now. It will get easier so just don't smoke for now! You can do this...you did it up until now! Remove yourself from whatever situation is currently making you want to smoke. I know it can be difficult but remember how much stronger you are then this craving you are having. Keep the quit!

I'm on Day 17 and I think I only thought about smoking 3 times yesterday. I never thought I would get this far, and was waiting for the day that I forgot to think about smoking. You will get there, and it shouldn't take too much longer until you suddenly have a craving and then laugh it off because you then know it's really not something you want. I'm craving less and even thinking about smoking less. If you hang in there, I can promise you that you will see a difference sooner than you think.

Congrats to you! It sounds like you are in it for the long haul! You probably weren't the flight attendant as you really wanted to quit! Keep the quit! Isn't it nice to save money, and not put harmful cancerous fumes into your body! What a great reward for life!
Congrats and keep us posted!
