Thanks, guys, for the kind words. It's nice to have the support here - it's a lot of what keeps me going.

Bobbi,
I just wanted to send you a couple of hugs, 'cause it sounds like a rough bit for you. I know the feeling, but you can make it!!! Alohakeia is right - the challenges would still be there, only you'd be smoking and feel bad about that, too.
Go take care of your babies and keep looking out ahead...it makes the hard times a bit easier to get through.
*hugs*

I've been reading all the posts here this morning, and it looks like a lot of people have been suffering what I have been in the last few days. Must be a weird moon cycle or something.
I wanted to share some positive in the craving department, though. Last night, I had one of the worst craves I have ever dealt with in a quit. I actually went to a friend who I knew had a pack of cigarettes. But she talked me out of it. In fact, she was kind of mean about it and I broke down crying. But I didn't smoke. I couldn't stay there though. I went back home, plopped my butt on the porch and didn't move for a good 4 hours. Had to make sure I stayed. Called my Dad, who beat this in one shot 20 years ago at 3 packs a day (hate him for that willpower sometimes), and he talked me through it some more.
I had a plan, you see. I was going to smoke now, because I've gained 10 pounds in 3 weeks, my mother told me I haven't sounded like myself for a few weeks, my friends told me I was being aloof, because my brother was dealing with two of his guys seriously injured in Iraq, because I was stressed about family health problems, and because I just plain wanted one. I was going to wait to quit again when I had health insurance and could get on Wellbutrin - figured it would help with the mood issues, the weight, and the smoking.
But for as bad as I wanted one, when I woke up this morning, I was so happy I didn't give in to it. I made this decision to quit in my right mind with GOOD reasons. I'm not going to go back in the middle of a crave messing with my head. So that's my affirmation. And I figure if I made it through that, feeling like an alcoholic who wants one last drink, I can make it through anything else the Nicodemon wants to throw at me. I am only more determined to see this through - and I hope that today sees everyone else feeling at least improved. :)

That other thread merits some research - I wouldn't doubt it, since I know that other drugs have increased in addictiveness in the past 15 years. I need to look into that.
Took care of the reward, Mercy, in a shopping spree at Borders :-) Yay!
Thanks for the encouragement, guys! You have no idea how good it is for me come on to the boards and see that people have actually taken the time to read and respond enthusiastically...it makes me feel good :-) I'll catch everyone around!!

mylast,
You're dealing with some tough stuff and I'm so proud that you've made it through!!! I'm sorry to hear about you and your husband's health issues, but happy to hear that you feel better with the diagnoses made.
Everyone's given such great advise and it seems as if the worst is over, but I just wanted to lend you some support and a hug, so *hugs* :) It doesn't help much, but...hey. It's what I've got.
Have a good weekend!!!!!!

Lily,
I was having a tough time, too, last night. an't even blame it on a full moon!!!
You are right where I quit quitting last year. Same time period, same everything. Just hang in there...I don't have anything better, but I think Penitent and Lainey do! Give the self-talk a whirl and go over your reasons for quitting again. It doesn't fix anything but it sure helps to keep things in focus.
Anyway - six months is a HUGE milestone. Give yourself a pat on the back foor it, and try thinking about it like the celebration it should be!!!!! I hope today is better *hugs*

Haven't tried that approach, Ex - I'll use that next time I'm fixin'!
Phil - I had to double check to make sure I read right. Everything ok?

I had the same thing! Still a little with the "heavy" chest in the morning, but it was worse when I smoked, and with the dizzy/spacey. That finally went away for the most part last week for me - 3 weeks in. It doesn't last forever! Anyway, just thought I'd add my few cents, since the same was happening to me, but it's getting better and better everyday.
NOPE!!!!
