A fishoutofwater on the BEACH.

LOOK OUT - DON'T STEP ON HIM. He finally made it. Congratualation on 100 days. Grab a towel, dry off...relax. You deserve it. It's a choice! One man's opinion on "the quit meter"

I don't care what your trinket says. On one side mine says 3 days. On the other side it says "sensitivity". I agree with Ron, perhaps my error was posting in the wrong spot. All I know that is if you fall off your soapbox, I'll be there to put the bandages on.

Stressed to the MAX!

Whoa...slow down Luci-Lou and take a Breath, and another, and another. Now Reread what you wrote, because you said everything that you need to hear. Smoking will not help anything...in fact it will probably hurt - a lot. These are difficult things to deal with and you are going to deal with them, but not with smoking. Don't let these stresses be your excuse to go back to slavery. You are free, and freedom is wonderful. That is something to be happy about. You can do this. One minute...then the next...then the next. I have faith in you. It's a choice! Don't believe everything you think...

Wow - Sounds like you have the right attitude. Congratulations on you 24 days. Yes, the Junkie in you has many tricks up it's sleeve. Be prepared to talk back and kick him in the pants. The 30 day blah's are just around the corner. Stay close. There are many here to help. NOPE - Not One Puff Ever. (Or else you may have to reset you meter like me) It's a choice! RELATIONSHIP WOES... ANY HELP/ADVICE?

Hi Fish WARNING of what happened to me just after the Beach...let down, the blues, big, big slip...OK Fall. I think it is one of those dangerouse periods that we need to be on the look out for. Realize that this could be what it is. Another last chance for Nicodemon. Don't even give him an inch. Not worth having to go back to the beginning. That hurts. I noticed you using the IM today. There seems to be a lot more people using it lately. Keep logging on and perhaps that will help with the loneliness. I'm cheering for you. Keep on keepin on. It's a choice!!! Sorry: I am about to jump off the wagon of quitting pain

Adam I will start by telling you that I jumped off the wagon last weekend after being on it for 107 days. I am glad that I jumped right back on. Yes, it's been rough this week. I have had almost constant smoking thoughts and lot's of craves. But after smoking last weekend, I realized that I have indeed made the right decision to quit...and quit I will remain. It was a terrible weekend where I had almost a constant headache. I tried to smoke so much that I because nauseated to the point where I almost vomited. It stank. I stank...and I was stupid to have given up my meter. That is my punishment and I have started again at zero. So you've got 2 days on me. The fact that you put your stats up says to me that you are pretty proud of those 7 days...as well you should be. Hell week is no easy feat and you made it. Just don't smoke, just for today, and you've got 8 days. This is how we all quit. One step at a time. One day at a time. We quit only for us, for no one else. We quit to have control, not anyone else...especially not nicotine. Right now, you need to get out your reasons and make a commitment to be true to yourself, and make a choice...to live. To be free. We are here for you. If you haven't already done so, download the messenger. There are quite a few of us using it these days, and you can talk to one of us directly. Give it a try. Just know that there are a lot of people here that want to see you succeed if you do. You have to want to quit more than you want to smoke. You can do this. I know you can. It's a choice! Not worth it anymore I don't think...

Hi Ron First, Take a Breath, a couple of them. Sounds like you are heading into the 30 day pit...early...just like I did around 3 weeks. This is going to get better I promise you...I PROMISE. Some people experience sleep disturbances during the first part of there quits. I think it took almost 6 weeks for my body to totally adjust and after that it was so much better. Your Doctor might be able to help you in that area though with some sleep aids. Chicken Stix is right about making the choice to be happy. You know I had difficulty with the blues last week and it ended up that not only did I choose to be sad, I chose to smoke too. I do remember not being very happy about that...smoking. It smelled rrreeeaaalllyyy bad. I had a terrible taste in my mouth. I had a constant headache for three days, and I made myself come close to vomiting. Is that what you want? The Nicodemon is working overtime in your head. It's all lies. Straighten him out and give him a kick in the bum right out the door. Stay close and read, read, read. I'm on the messenger right now. It's a choice! How do I handle the hubby?

There is hope, you know. My husband actually picked up Allan Carr's book last night and started reading it. Keeping my fingers crossed that he will come along on this journey. It's a choice!
