Congratulations Smokefree2! YOU DID IT! Relax and enjoy.
I'm coming and I'll be bringing my new CD's I'm buying as a reward. Put my hammock in the sun. I've been buried under snow for 5 months. I can hardly wait to eat all the delicious food...and I have walked many miles on my treadmill so that these Buns of Steel will fit the bathing suit.

Ouch. That's got to hurt. Sorry you listened to the Nicodemon. He got you. Now, Brush yourself off and start again. I think you should figure out exactly what happened though, so it doesn't happen again.
I know you can do it.

I felt exactly the same way for a good 6 weeks. I had not motivation. I could not concentrate to do the simplest things. I had energy but I didn't/couldn't do anything. Exercise helped to just get moving even when you didn't feel like it. I still have a little trouble getting things started. Just go with the flow. Nothing is that important except N.O.P.E.

Just wanted you to know that I am living the same story here. H was supposed to have quit when I did, but didn't. A few weeks ago he told me he quit. I think he lasted a few days - don't know for sure. The last few weeks have been difficult, trying to come to terms with his inadequate efforts, but I am back on track with MY QUIT. He needs to find his way in his own good time - Hopefully.

I can see the beach. Thank goodness...it's not spring here for another 5 weeks!

Congratulations on 3 months Bill!!!. How are you rewarding yourself?
You will be the first breaker to the beach, but not the only winner. I'll be right behind you kicking up some sand.

When I read this post this morning, it sent my day into a tail spin and I am now just coming up for air. Geez if I haven't had the same thoughts myself over that last few weeks - having one or two or a thousand just to make a point. And that point would be?
You said it best yourself...
"You've got to get your most stubborn face on. You've got to hang onto your quit with all your might. You've got to say "Damn the torpedos...full speed ahead!" That's what you've got to do if you want to quit. It is totally a matter of mindset. Forget what your husband or anybody else says or thinks. The people on this site have quit and will be your best support.
-Just make sure that in your quiver you have the arrow of determination. That is the very most important ingredient. The other aids will ease your journey, but you must also have a stubbornness and a grit and a mindset that you are through with this addiction once and for all. And, you must recognize that it is indeed an addiction -- if you smoke one cigarette, you might as well put the whole pack in your mouth."
Thanks for the honesty!

Hi Celia
Just wanted you to know that you are not alone in these thoughts. I have been struggling this weekend too with thoughts of starting again. I am feeling resentful of my husband not having quit. He is indulging, yet I cannot. I know they are stupid thoughts and I have gone through all the lines in my head that I should be saying in order to stay strong, but the stupid thoughts are still there. I am telling myself that I need to feel sorry for him because he is still smoking. Don't glamorize it. Don't let his reasons for smoking be your reasons for giving up your quit. You've come to far. Lets do it together!
