Thought I would check in with a little update. I have been working on and making progress on two of my smart goals the last couple of weeks so I haven't posted here in the forum a lot lately. It's kind of like what Davit was saying in one of his posts about the brain only being able to process four thoughts at a time. I do find it less stressful to stick to one or two thoughts/things at a time. other wise I go into overload. Anyway Remember the quilt that I said I didn't want to finish well I had a change of heart and am now finishing it. It's been slow going but that ok because I am making progress. I am spending at least 2 hours a day doing things that I enjoy now. Reading and cooking healthy food is on that list too as is making sure I get enough sleep most nights. I have also stuck to the boundaries that I have set with others when it comes to the use of my time and space and that one action is making it possible for me to progress in a Happy Healthy way with my life and goals. Having some control over my destiny has been very liberating......Red

Association is a strange thing and can play havoc with memory. I don't remember all the lousy Christmases I had. Maybe half of them. I just know there were lots. I do remember the good ones, and this is sort of backwards because negatives have priority.  When I think of Christmas, first for a fraction of a second comes up that there were bad ones, then comes memories of the good ones, but then comes "why bother". Because if I put up the tree and bake it will remind me of the good ones. Christmas music is so dated that it reminds me of some of those bad Christmases. So I only listen to the stuff I can associate with the good times. Nice thing about a computer is you can load the songs you want only. Or you can load them all and play only the ones you want. A far cry from a scratchy old record or Burl Ives on the radio. I remember Nana Moskouri playing in a mall when I was searching for unique gifts. And I found unique gifts because I was healthy enough to spend a lot of time looking. I can't do that anymore. I don't exchange with my brother any more. In fact we hardly even communicate. That doesn't change the spirit of Christmas. I have a nice Cornish hen to stuff and a bag of kitty treats for the cats. Not much of a feast but enough. I put some wine in pressure bottles with a spoon of sugar to make it bubbly. ( you can only do this with homemade wine ) All my baking is done and my house is clean. I can go play in my shop. Positive thoughts, Soon we will be over the hump and winter will be on the way out. It will be time to order seeds.
Is my Christmas lacking, I don't think so. It will be quiet and that is how I like it.

Ps A neighbour offered to get me a real tree, there are lots here but it is easier to clean up after an artificial one. I have a friend who decorates a white painted branch.

Thanks Ashley and Everyone who posted their accomplishments positives for the day... I've been feeling a little down lately so I thought maybe it was time I posted some of my positives again today.. We got a Christmas tree and decorated it this week and I am enjoying it's cheery little self.. I noticed it while coming out of the home depot. It was the one of five still for sale at the Christmas tree lot. I didn't think I wanted a tree this year but am happy I bought this little tree and gave it a home for the holidays here with me.. We Finished mailing off Christmas packages last week. I spent some time relaxing and reading last night after a hard week.. Next I will be getting ready to prepare a Christmas feast on Christmas eve or Christmas day. Not sure yet still playing it by ear on that one.. It all depends on how I am feeling that day. Red....
