New quitter needs help!

I have stopped smoking but afraid I will fall back into it. It has been almost 12 full days but do not feel very confident in myself. My poor children have not had an easy time with me either. My husband has stopped also and he seems to be doing great! (Congrats honey) I am not sure how to keep my "anger" placed where it should be and not on my family. My children understand (they are 13 and 10) but I still don't want to put them through the yelling and rants I seem to be having. Anyone with any suggestions that might help them? Here we go again

Please hang in there. Life would be so great in retirement smoke-free! Just imagine all the extra's you could do not having to worry about trying to find a place to smoke and all the extra money in the one year till then if you saved all of it. What a great trip you could take. Good luck and my thoughts are with you....

Merry Christmas...I'm miserable

I tried to quit one Christmas day because that is what my children said they wanted. Well sad to say I made them stop opening gifts about 10 minutes into it so I could go get a pack of cigarettes. That was about 2-3 years ago. This time my husband and I did it together and did it a week before. I get the crying....it is day 12 and still break down sometimes. It is getting so much better though. Hang in there. It don't last forever and the results are worth it. Congrats on your quit and my thoughts are with you.... Finally quitting!

I understand what your feeling. I just went cold turket about 12 days ago. Didn't really want to but my husband was quitting and I knew he could do it without me. I have 2 children and knew it was best for them. But I decided to "try" and have done good. Have not "cheated" once. My husband found this site and told me about it and know I won't let him on the computer cause I am on here all the time. I only joined today! Crazy. There is a post from a lady named Luna. I think her name is "Reflections after not smoking 3037 cigarettes" or something very close to that. Her post alone made me want to lay them down and never pick them up again. Please read her post. Good luck to you and yours. Hi im quitting tomorrow!

I am so proud of you... It takes a very strong person to go through what you have. If you ever have doubt that you can't stop smoking those little bitty cigarettes just think back to what you have been through already. Good God man, your making me feel like a cry baby now that I have read your post. You have just inspired me to hang in there. Thank you. Wishing you all the luck in the world Wendi My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/18/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 11 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 296 Amount Saved: $44 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 21 Mins: 5 Seconds: 6

New quitter needs help!

Thank you so much Kaitilina. It is so nice to hear that I am not along in this cranky part of it. I don't even know if cranky is the right word. Hateful beast might be more like it. Thank you for your support and it helps to know that is really won't last forever. I will have my kids read this too so they can see they aren't the only ones either. Thanks again so much..
