Quit if nothing else to show him that you DO have control of your life and you will out live him. You must keep your body healthy and beautiful. You are such a great person and can do whatever you put your mind to. There is more support on this site then you would ever need. I am still somewhat new in my quit but without this site and the people on here I know I wouldn't have made it this far. Post often and read more.
Good luck
Keep on keepin' the quit.
Best wishes

My husband and I both started our quit not to long ago and we have found that tuna fish and saltine crackers has helped up. Sugar free candy and lots of fruit and vegtables. Keep your quit and worry about the diet later. Smoking is much worse than gaining some pounds. You can alway lose the weight, you can't grow new lungs.
Good luck and best wishes with you.

Whatever it takes!!!
Just remember when the pool is over the demon will always lurk in the back of your mind and will show his Ugly face when you least expect it. Stay strong and keep tight to your quit.
Your doing great!

p.s. My daughter and son are my spies. They yell at the top of their lungs if they think I am smoking.

I have been right where you are now. It can be done. I didn't really "want" to quit either but my husband pushed for us to start our quit together and the longer I went and the more I read and posted on this site it turned out to be a good thing. You can do this and you will.
We have also went C.T. and the excercising and LOTS of long walks have done wonders for helping. Some people gain some weight during their quit but we have walked so much I have lost 3 pounds. Right now weight don't matter anyway, your life does though. The best thing for you is to stop both (I had to). Just the inhaling part wanted me to have one of those cigs worse.
Your right....you can't be a social smoker and a non-smoker at the same time. Avoid the places you want to smoke at. I haven't been to several of my friends houses since my quit because the temptations would be too great. That don't mean I can't go forever but just until I feel I am strong enough to. In the mean time they come here and smoke outside. My house, my rules. They understand and 2 have actually decided to quit also. So be inspired and inspire others, that is what this site is about.
Good luck and best wishes, read often and post often.
Most important........N.O.P.E.

Thank you so much guys. Just what I thought would happen did. Woke up this morning and felt sort of blah and I felt like I didn't have the strenght to or the umph to get the fight going so before any of the kids showed up this morning I jumped on here first thing and read your posts and here we go again........kicking some major ash butt. Just what I needed. Thank you all so very much for the support, I really needed it this morning.
Step by step and forever N.O.P.E.

That is exactly what I did. Got up....did some breathing, got a cappuccino, and plopped down in my computer chair and started posting and reading. This is starting to become a ritual. Better than turning to my night stand and grabbing for that demon. You guys are wonderful! Thank you so much.....
