Hello I'm new

Hi redneck I am sorry to hear about your medical issues but you have made one of the best decisions you can right now. I have had 3 family members suffer from the same thing and can sympathize with you. Know that this site is full of support and great people. I would be more than willing to talk you through rough times, now is the time to take charge of your life and and take back the control we all lost when we lit that first cigarette. Your not alone in this and hang in there. Good luck..... I am afraid

You can and will be able to do this. Hang in there and you can do anything. I know...easier said than done but I am doing it. It is one of hardest thing I have ever done but I am going on day 13. 12 full days of my quit are over. It only gets easier as you go along. This is a great site for support. I am not sure I could have done it without them. Good luck with your quit and post often. I want to be smoke free.

Hi deb! I tried everything to help quit. The gum, patches, pills, lozinges, even got hypnitized. Nothing seemed to be the one for me. My husband and I decided just over 12 days ago to go cold turkey. It is the hardest thing I have done but I am actually doing it this time. There has been a lot of crying, fighting and yelling but it only last a short time then it is good again. I know I will gain weight but the extra eating is only temperary. I will worry about losing that once the nicodemon is out of my body and head. Which is the worse of the two. An extra couple pounds isn't going to kill me but my cigarettes would. Good luck and hang in there. Post often and let us know how your doing...... New quitter needs help!

Thank you guys for all your support. My cousin is going to start her quit tonight at midnight (which by the way is mine and Robs 2 week quit ann.) she is going to need all the support she can get. Her husband isn't very supportive of this but I told her with the help of this site she could do it so please watch for her. Her name is Pokey. Thanks again, your all great. Had a good day today (lots of walking again) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/18/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 13 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 338 Amount Saved: $52 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 0 Mins: 1 Seconds: 54

I am quitting at midnight!

My husband and I quit CT also. I really didn't want to but like you he nagged at me till I agreed. He has been very strong with me and we are at our 2 week mark now and I thank him every day for not letting me give in. You can do this and so can your husband. Just keep reminding him it is about your children's health and your childrens want to have their mommy and daddy around for a long time. We are all pulling for you. New quitter needs help!

Thank you so much. It is raining out but getting wet is better than smoking. The walks is the best thing we (hubby and I) have found to get rid of that nasty crave. And we get to spend some of that much needed time alone together to just talk and be calm. Thanks again for everyones support. cravings

With every thing that I have read it takes 3 days (72 hours) for the actual nicodemon to leave the body but it does take longer to reprogram your brain to know you don't need it. Hang in there. New quitter needs help!

Hi guys...just checking in. Hard sort of a bad day today but didn't "cheat" or anything. Still can't get these stupid thoughts out of my head that the fight isn't worth it. I know it is but man that voice can get loud! I have walked so much in my neighborhood that the people around here are starting to think I have lost it. My legs hurt so bad, didn't realize I was this out of shape. I have read, walked, showered (till I'm all pruney), it seems everything. Any really out there idea's to help. Seems I have done all the normal things and don't want to just throw away 2 weeks of really hard work. Thanks My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/18/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 12 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 322 Amount Saved: $48 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 22 Mins: 55 Seconds: 54
