Hi I am a newbie. my name is Bobbi. I quit smoking 7 mo. ago and am still having such a hard time with knowing who I am it is like I have been born again but it doesn't feel good and don't know what to do about it, even my friends and family say I am different but not a bad thing, just different they can't explain how. I smoked for 50 years so everything I did involved cigs. so really don't know who I am now and is very hard to deal with. I need help sooooo bad, Please! Thanks, Bobbi

New Meds

   Hi, Bobbi here,
The Dr. just put me on Trazadone 50 mg. just to sleep, have been on them for 4 days and does seem to help. He also gave me a presp. for Buprophen 150 mg. I haven't started taking them yet, really fearful about taking them< I have had so many bad effects from several meds. almost panic when am put on a new one. But I quit smoking 1 year 4 mo. ago and as time has passed I have gotten more depressed, also anxious at times. Have tried to get a grip on it for several mo. but finally to no avail went to the DR. I want to feel like I did when I smoked, so happy most of the time could handle any stress situation, what ever came along in life. It is like I don't know who I am any more. I keep thinking things will get better, most I talk to after some time they get better not worse! I have also gained weight 20 lbs. and that also makes me unhappy, I have not eatten more and have always excerised, just added more, eat healthy always have, but the weight came on any way. I took Serax about 35 years ago when my grandmother passed, has anyone taken that? but can't remember how I felt back then, and didn't take them very long. Anyone please tell me all you can about Buprophen XL, Serax. also can a person still drink alchol, not every day by any means, a glass or two of wine, once in awhile? I did some with Serax but don't know about Buprophen. Please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am desperate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hugs, prayers,
Bobbi

To those who quit in March 07

Hey March-mellows, Just stopping in to congratulate all of you non-smokers, GREAT JOB, I love having this group! 3/27 almost here and I will be a non-smoker like so many of you and with your help I will remain that way! I have been to other boards but this is the most supportative one ever! I will be out of town from tomorrow- 3/23, have ill parent's have to go to help take care of them often. I will be so close to my q-day when I get back, excited but still alittle scared, but know this is normal. I have been reacheraching for about two months, so much more prepared then I ever was the last three times I have tried. Will still be hard but this time I WILL DO IT! Like I know all of you will also! All please keep in touch. Bobbi

Anyone quitting 3/27?

Ky women, Thanks for your post! Yes I am a heavy smoker, smoked for 50 years, stupid ones! Am excited but scared for my q day, but from what I read that is normal. I have been recearching everything possible for two months now, have done lots of work sheets etc. Better prepared then I was the last three times I tried to quit, which was cold turkey and never again that way! Also weight gain was why I started smoking again, this time have a better plan for that. I will be out of town starting tomorrow - March 23, I have ill parent's and have to make several trips to help out with them. Will be back on soon as I get back and getting ready for the big day. I love this board, have tried some others but this is the most responsive with support. Also joined the March-Mallows here ones who have quit in March. Is great! I am from Indiana. Thanks again, much luck to you. Please keep in touch. Bobbi :)
