thanks jim;
i'm gonna enjoy the tournament , but i think i'll avoid the sports bar for a while , too much temptation there for me to smoke right now.
i thought about you guys this weekend , when i was tempted to smoke i would think "i don't want to let those folks down" , and it worked.

thanks everyone. today is a pretty special day for me.if i make through today , and i will , i will have 1 week in as a non-smoker.
what really makes it nice is the support i'm getting from my family.
jim , i like texas' chances but getting past memphis will be tough.
they are a weak shooting free throw team so maybe we just foul 'em and send 'em to the line a lot.
of course we have to advance that far first.
thank you all again for the help , you guys are great !

okay folks , with your support i slapped that first week in the face !
today i start week #2.
i've got to tell you , i feel so much better.my lungs feel like i'm 20 years old again and last night my wife and i went to the gym , i told her i was gonna attack the treadmill.
now i'm just walking fast , no jogging yet , but i cranked up the speed early and often and went faster and farther than ever before.
my goal is to run in the lance armstrong "live strong challenge 5k" in austin this october , last year i walked it.
my grandkids will never see me smoke because i quit , what a motivator that is !
