one of the coolest things on this site is , you long time quitters give us new ones encouragement & hope.
and if your a quitter with less time than some of us , you give us someone to cheer for.
i thank you all

thanks so much and my man , you will love san antonio.
i lived there from 1982-1994 , then we moved to houston.
there are a ton of great mexican food restaurants.
several "alamo cafes" around town , they're all great.
"papasita's" is awesome.
"los barrio's" is old style great.
i'm familiar with the whole city if you need tips on anything else.
have a great time ,
mike r. / astrofan
let me know where you're staying and i can give you a better list.

you'll love alamo cafe.there is one off of i10 by the medical center and also one off of hwy 281 on the northwest part of town.
papasita's has locations close to both of those ares as well.
if you want some GREAT bar-b-q try "tom's ribs" on the north side off of loop 1604.
great home cooking "mama's cafe" , on nacagdoches and one on san pedro.
great steaks & home cooking , "the red barn" inside loop 410.
have a great time !
