anger, aggressiveness.....

Cat I'm no expert nor will I pretend to know enough about it but from my own experience I figured that maybe it is not the nicotine (it should apparently be out of your system after 3 days) but maybe the readjusting to your day to day life without having your fags as your companions. Your days were probably split by little short breaks that would give you a small amount of pleasure and now you're avoiding those times. So in your mind you're probably just upset at the fact that you don't have those little moments of calm and pleasure anymore and you're trying to deal with that. I would suggest taking short breaks during the day to do something you truly enjoy and that will relax you. The other way I've been dealing with anger and lack of patience has been suggested by people here before... breathing in, recongizing that it is a temporary feeling and jsut smiling because life will be a lot better in a few days :) Good luck Cat! Losing it.

Goofy, you're doing great. Just keep thinking about the positive things you have accomplished in almost one week! If you look at your mileage you'll see how impressed you should be with yourself! You have not smoked 240 cigs in 6 days!! Imagine how much better your lungs are feeling now :) I didn't even realize I would have had 99 fags in 6 days and half! Crazy! I'm feeling a lot better... I can see I'm slowly feeling less anxious. The desire is still there but it is a lot easier to control. When I left the house this morning I passed by the depaneur at the bottom of the building and managed to not even think twice about not buying a pack. This used to be pretty hard a week ago :). We'll make it, don't give up! We'll celebrate tomorrow our 1st week!!! yay! Losing it.

Hey Goofy, I've had a pretty good weekend overall. Yesterday was a bit better to deal with than today. Mostly because I was busy with work and had to walk to another institute so the fresh air helped me through it. Today I spent the whole day at home which made it a little harder to deal with. On top of that it was mostly spent working on figures for my talk next friday on the computer so it made it quite challenging. But what got me through it was my sweet, sweet bf. We chatted all day... well we were both online webcaming but working at the same time. It is nice to be able to at least get a few little breaks and talk. He's also quitting... today was his 3rd smoke-free day :) I'm extremely proud of him since he has been smoking for a few years (I believe around 17). Together I think we motivate each other and keep each other from slipping. We'll make it Goofy! You'll see :). Here comes Heck week! Bring it on :P My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 105 Amount Saved: $34.13 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 13 Mins: 18 Seconds: 34

Losing it.

P.S. forgot to mention... here's another positive thing about your quit... your guitar playing skills will get better and better :) Soon you'll be playing solo gigs and who knows maybe even getting a record deal :P Seriously though, it's nice to have a healthy hobbie ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 105 Amount Saved: $34.13 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 13 Mins: 19 Seconds: 5

damn almost lost it today :(

thank goodness the depaneur downstairs has just gotten their license suspended for selling individual cigarettes! I just came back from a very stressful morning coffee with my ex and felt like I could smoke a whole pack in one hour. I can't believe how weak I'm feeling now. I stopped by the depaneur and thought that was it... I was going to throw it all away. One whole week of effort, feeling great most of the days... and all because of what? Feeling like I'm responsible for his depression. Geez, I'm an idiot! Anyhoo, don't mean to depress anyone with my little vent. I just needed to get some of this stuff out. I'm still here, still smoke free... hopefully the rest of the day will go a bit better :) Thanks for listening guys :D My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 8 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 120 Amount Saved: $39.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 14 Mins: 20 Seconds: 13
