Feels like day 1 again

Hey Wazz, I think the last couple of days have been like that for me too. It's been tough but I'm thinking that it is probably due to the anxiety before my talk. I'm hoping these feelings will go away once I'm done with it. I've also been feeling extremely irritated today with people. It's made me feel quite sad, because it makes you think that you'll never get over the hump. But don't you worry about it. Better days will come and you'll be thankful you were so strong dealing with all of it. Stay strong buddy! I'll be around if you need to chat. Octobreathers! How's it going?

it is quite cold there Goofy. I think it will be about 2 or 3 degrees C lower than Montreal... and it is already getting quite cold here too :P. But that's ok, we'll have each other to keep warm ;). I've never been there so it will be quite an adventure. We'll be back on Monday because I really can't take that much time off of work but at least it will be one of those weekends where I don't have to think about work at all!!! Those are a rarety for me :P. Gosh you make me sooooo jealous talking about going to the beach! I hope the weather will be good and while you're there enjoying the sun have a beer for the MusQuitteers! Ouch

Ouch is the word. I hate tooth aches... they're probably one of the worst kind. Sorry to hear that Wazz! Could you get an emergency dentist appointment maybe? I had a chronic root infection about 10 years ago... woke up in the middle of the night with half of my face the size of a ball and huge pain without knowing what was going on. Had to get an emergency dentist appointment that night and they gave me some nice pain killers but couldn't do much until the swealing had gone down. I ended up having a root canal done in that tooth and found out that I had the infection because I had a really bad dentist when I was 12, who did a really poor job at cleaning a cavity. Basically I had a root getting infected over the period of 5 years. Not a good feeling once I finally found out. Anyhoo, all of that to say... I hope you feel better soon... and even though I am still very scared of going to the dentist, it is still better to go earlier than later. On a good note... congrats on your 13 days!!! :) (Parabens!) Octobreathers, how are you doing?

Hey guys! Checking in after an awesome frozen weekend in Quebec city :) Managed to celebrate quite a lot on friday night after my talk with everyone in my lab and friends. We went all out, partied, danced and drank a little too much. But the best part was... only thought of a cigarette once that whole night :) Being with my bf also makes it A LOT easier. We keep ourselves busy, and manage to do our every day life without even thinking about it. It's an awesome feeling. I'm only scared now of when he leaves and I'll try and use that as a justification to go back to it. But I'm feeling pretty strong and sure that it won't happen. Just the thought of the taste and smell makes me want to gag. I'm loving week 4 guys! Almost a month for the MusQuitteers! Bought a few clothes and furniture to celebrate too :) And spent a little too much on the spa massages but hey... I've saved up enough anyway by not smoking. Cheers! Octobreathers, it's almost December!

Hey OMT and Goofy! Sorry for not saying much these last couple of weeks. My bf has been in town and keeping me quite busy ;) We've been taking it easy, staying in for most of the time because winter has officially arrived (snow and all) in Montreal. I almost forgot we had reached one month... the last couple of weeks have been quite easy :). Well... maybe not when we go out for a few beers :P But we're still smoke free! YAY! Can't wait for month 2 :) The days are passing by a lot faster now. Thanks for remembering me :). Keep strong MusQuitteers & Octobreathers! Special congrats hug to OMT and Goofy, my quit buddies :* My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 32 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 480 Amount Saved: $156.00 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 7 Mins: 21 Seconds: 15

Goofy and Sprquits have one month!

Thank you guys! I'm so sorry for the late reply. I do appreciate all the support I have received from all of you here, particularly in the first couple of weeks. I feel a lot better and the craves are rare these days. The only thing I found a little strange are the couple of smoking dreams I've been having lately. But even in those, I'm saying no cigs. Congrats again to Goofy and OMT! You guys rock! Octobreathers, it's almost December!

Hey guys, I'm really sorry once again for not keeping you guys informed of how my quit was going. I was feeling pretty well and quite happy because my bf was in town. We don't get to see each other much so we took the most time we could in 2 weeks and tried to maximize as much as possible. After my talk two weeks ago I also had a lot of input from professors and colleagues on my ongoing research in my PhD so I have been at the same time trying to move things along as much as I can. It's been good... productive but very busy. Those were the reasons why I have been away from the site for a little while. I hope you can forgive me Goofy ;). Jodi, thank you so much for your support too. I have been enjoying the snow a lot but the cold temps have been annoying me just a little (-16C last night, argh). Not used to them... even after 6 years in Montreal. OMT, I'm so sorry to hear you had a little slip... but I'm happier that you stuck strong and didn't let it affect your quit. Way to go girl! You're definitely a true MusQuitteer! Ok I'm off now to do some work... my bf is back in London and I'm feeling the pressure to get my PhD finished as soon as possible... I really want to go back to Europe so we can move in together :).
