Smoke free or Nicotine Free

yes Alohakeia, there are plenty of chemicals in those too. The other thing most people don't realize is that these chemicals not only affect the tissue that is directly exposed to them like your lungs and tongue, stomach... but there is enough evidence these days supporting a role for smoking as a major cause of endometrium and breast cancer. Anyhoo... after all of that and I still went back to smoking... addiction is a nasty thing. damn almost lost it today :(

hehehe all good for now. Feeling a lot better after spending the whole day reading people's posts and getting support from everyone here :) Although today I should have been working all day on my talk and not even the green tea has given me the courage to tackle that one. But I'll do it now... it will be a long night, but at least it will be a smoke-free long night :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 8 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 120 Amount Saved: $39.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 14 Mins: 41 Seconds: 55

1 more :)

I just had a convo with a colleague today that your post reminded me of. Even though she is a smoker (for now I hope!) she knows how hard it is to try and quit and to actually do it for real. I was telling her about how hard yesterday was for me and that at one point I thought of giving it all up. Although that thought quickly changed when I said to myself if you can do it now that you're going through so much hardache then you can overcome anything after this. What she said was that... there is always some excuse, something going on in your life that you'll use as an excuse not to quit... and THAT is the addiction quicking in. So hang on Wazz because like you said... you are no addict and don't want to be one anymore. We'll make it! It will get better soon :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 135 Amount Saved: $43.88 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 16 Mins: 5 Seconds: 6

Just set my quit date

Moss I'm only at the beginning of my 2nd week now and I already feel a lot better about the cravings. They are still there and sometimes it feels like they last for a big while but the truth is the worst has passed. I felt worse when I was feeling the cravings and was also feeling down and confused from my withdrawal (this was during my first 3-4 days). I think for me the trick has been to try to focus on the positives and keep on smiling. Keep on thinking tomorrow will be an even better day :). It also really helped to feel like your body is healing as you're going through the rough times, it keeps you hopeful that it will pass. Welcome Moss and the best of luck! And when you think you can't bare it just come here and post... someone is always around to help you through it. On another note... Stan!!! Congrats on your first 6 days! You're almost done with hell week!!!!
