There are a few things Danielle.
Rewards for your efforts.
Dont make it feel like you are punishing yourself.
Relaxation is very important, yoga and exersizing does it for me.
Helping others through really helps, its a distractor.
Goal setting.
Most importantly
Beleiving that i could do it, and look at me now... I have done it :)

Hi Gator,
Stop using words in the negative such as "Try" you will fail, use positive affirmations such as i HAVE quit. Want the quit more than you want the next cigarette. Temptations will always be there, get your coping mechanisims in place and beleive that you will succeed and you WILL succeed. Support is so very important so stay close to this site.
There are so many people here that have smoked for decades and have quit, some that never thought that they ever would. You owe it to yourself to quit. Choose to life.
We will all be here to support you :)

Hey Peppermint,
One day at a time, use your coping mechanisims. Do whatever you have to just dont smoke.
You have just started your quit, be gentle with yourself and just keep reminding yourself of the reasons why you are quiting.
If you crave, come in here and post, read and post.
Keep Strong
