Well, I'm back. I have tried this over and over again. I want to quit. I really do. My sister was diagnosed with breast cancer last spring and she never smoked in her life. She is doing well, but it's scarry. I have two kids, son 10 and daughter 13. Been married 16 years and been with my hubby for 26 years. He does not smoke. I don't smoke at home, well, I didn't use to until recently. I now sneak them when the family is away. I had my last cig on Monday night when hubby was out. I smoked 4 in a row, knowing it would be the last. I hope. I need help.

Well, I made it so far. I could have smoked on Friday, I was home alone all day. Instead I decided to cook. I made home made soup, prepared supper and baked. I was busy all day. Sunday, I went for a nap in the afternoon and that took over 2 hours of not thinking of cigs. I went for a walk with my husband and watched a movie with family. I did it. Usually I would have found a way to go for a walk by myself and smoke, send my hubby shopping with kids or just snuck out of the house. Not this weekend. It feels great. I find it easier at work for some reason. You would think it harder because most of the people I work with smoke.
I am finding my clothe don't smell as well as my hair.
You see my husband and family think I quit years ago. I have been feeling pretty bad about having to sneak around. I was always showering when I got home from work. I would blame the smell on hanging out with smokers. How pathetic is that. No more, it feels good this morning to say I did it.
It was tough. I even went out and bought a pack of cigarettes on Friday. I got home and decided to wash my kitchen floor before having the cigarette. Then I decided to visit my mom, then I decided to have lunch. After lunch I decided I could have a short nap. I woke up 1 1/2 hours later and it was time to pick up my son at school. Before I knew it, the day had passed and I did not have that cigarette. I still have the pack, unopenned. Should I keep it or throw it out?

Good for you, I'm on day 9 and had a pretty bad morning. I went for a walk to clear my head and I feel much better now. It's very cold here in Ottawa so it had to be a short walk. Keep it up. We can do this.

Hi there, I quit Jan 31/06 cold turkey. I have never felt better. I quit smoking approximately 12 times a year. That right I quit with the patch, the gum, the inhaler. I would go one, two maybe even four days, then I would start again for another month or so and go at it again and quit. This time I decided to try cold turkey. I get cravings but I have been able to suck on candy instead of nic. gum. I haven't been as edgy. I think for me it's the best way. I am cleaning out my system completely. No more toxins. I feel pretty good most of the time. I feel proud and I am always giving myself a pat on the back. This is my quit story so far...
