Hi there, I quit Jan 31/06 cold turkey. I have never felt better. I quit smoking approximately 12 times a year. That right I quit with the patch, the gum, the inhaler. I would go one, two maybe even four days, then I would start again for another month or so and go at it again and quit. This time I decided to try cold turkey. I get cravings but I have been able to suck on candy instead of nic. gum. I haven't been as edgy. I think for me it's the best way. I am cleaning out my system completely. No more toxins. I feel pretty good most of the time. I feel proud and I am always giving myself a pat on the back. This is my quit story so far...

Hey Kat
Welcome to this site. I have been without cigarettes for 10 days today. This site is great. I had a bad day yesterday, but I made it through because of the support I received here. You will love it here.

My advise to you is to keep posting on this site. It's surprising just how you depend on these people you don't even know.

I feel great today Day 10. I have been waking up at 4 a.m. all week and I don't feel tired. I'm able to fall asleep again and then up at 6 a.m. I feel great. I'm tasting my food. Maybe I'm eating a little too much junk but I decided to buy health snacks from now on instead of chips, chocolat. I don't want to gain weight. My co-workers have been great and encouraging without being nagging. Hopefully tomorrow will go good. I'm alone at home while kids are at school and hubby at work. That's when I use to smoke the most, buddled outside in the backyard. It's crazy when you think of it, freezing for a couple of puffs. :p

Hey there, I quit January 31, 2006. I'm working on day 10. I've had pretty rough times but I made it through because of this site. I keep it open at work and in between work I glance at it and sometimes add to it. Keep up the good work. I know I am.

Someone told me today that I smelled good. I guess it's true, no smokey smell on my hair and clothe. I even brought my coat to the cleaners to get rid of the smell. Here is another reason not to smoke, it smells bad TextTextText

Wow Guy's, that walk did help me. I stopped at the library accross the street and took out a book I have been wanting to read. I also made plans with a friend to meet for lunch. I will make it. I know I will. I just hope that Friday won't be too hard. You see I don't work fridays and the kids are at school and hubby is at work. I use to smoke the most (outside) on Fridays. Last week the kids were home on a PD day so I found it easier not to smoke. Wish me luck.
