Today is the day!!!

Congrats! I am also a Chantix user and it has really helped me. I am over half way through with day 2! You asked if anyone remembers being half way through day 1... yes I do.. very well. You can do it and we are all here for ya... Everyone here has really helped me so much with this and I hope that I can help others as much as everyone has helped me! Keep reading and drinks lots of water.. that has really really helped me... whenever I start wanting a cig, I get a cold water instead.. and before I know it.. I no longer want a cig. I also remind myself a lot that I really don't want that cig and that I am going to be much happier when I beat this addiction.. Back on Chantix

I am still at the start of my Chantix, but I was wondering how things go once you are done with it. Please keeep us informed on how it works weaning off Chantix. I am going to talk to my doc about not just ending it at the end but weaning down. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I am trying to stay prepared for what is to come and it is so good to hear what other have gone through or are going through. Thank you. APRIL quitters !

Hello everyone! Jean... I am not usually this busy but this week I am teaching a class after work. I do this about once every 6 months. It takes my normal 8 hour day to a 12 hour day. It is only for 1 week though... Tomorrow is the test day, once that is over I have the entire weekend and next week goes back to normal. Thank goodness because I am really tired. Everyone is looking great! Our stats just keep getting better and better! Way to go everyone! I am doing well today seems like each day that passes I have fewer and fewer thoughts of smoking. I never thought I could go a few hours without thinking of one.. much less an entire work shift! I am so thankful that the past week has been good. I needed it to be working so much this week! I know that at any time a craving could creep up on me and I keep that in mind... but freedom sure is nice! Well, gonna go. I am gonna watch a little tv and rest a little. Then head to bed here in a little bit. Take care and keep up the good work everyone!!! APRIL quitters !

Kinda late checking in.. but better late than never. My class took their test today and everyone passed! YAYYYY!!! That means I must have taught them what they needed to know. I was later getting out tonight because we graded the tests and all that fun stuff. Then my boyfriend and I went to eat and to Wal-Mart. Finally home and so tired, I worked 17 hours overtime this week! Doing well on the non-smoking front though. Actually, doing great. The past 4 or 5 days have been awesome, no cravings and not that many thoughts of smoking. Yesterday I did have a thought. I was sitting at a red light and it came to me. Normally I would have a cig right now, but I didn't want it... the thought of it was pretty gross. The thought of how it was smell and taste was not appealing at all. I was proud of that. My boyfriend is still doing well also, still smoke free. He quit the day after I did. I have a friend at work that quit the day after I did also. She had a very stressful day the other day and told me that she smoked 3 cigs that day, but none since. I was glad to hear that she hadn't smoked any since those 3... she will make it! Ok, it will well past time for me to be in bed.. so, I am gonna go for now. Talk to you all tomorrow... APRIL quitters !

Hello fellow April Ashkickers! What a wonderful smoke free weekend. I have been resting a lot to recover from the 17 hours overtime I worked last week. My boyfriend and I went out for some dinner to celebrate Cinco De Mayo yesterday. Then we went looking for him a reward for nearly 3 weeks smoke free. We just spend some good time together and with the older 2 kids (the younger 2 are away this weekend). Jean, hope you are feeling better soon! My son has a cold.. the colds at the start of summer seem to be the wrost!
