30 days today!

HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thirty days is HUGE!!!!! I'm glad you're giving yourself presents. I've found them very helpful and am a big fan of this whole gift to yourself thing. Way to go-- thanks for the inspiration! help, help, help

I'm drawing the curtains to end my 6th day. Tomorrow I'm a week new! It's also a back to work day which is making me nervous. I seem to be fine everywhere else, but struggle a lot at work (go figure). I am visualizing a struggle-free day-- ohmmmmmmm. :) I guess it'll be whatever it's gonna be. I'll deal with it... or I won't. But either way, I will not take even one puff of a cigarette! Thanks for being there guys. I can't say enough that I truly believe that you have all made the difference between "another failed attempt" and this entirely new feeling of freedom from cigarettes. Have a beautiful, smoke-free day. :) Deborah My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 6 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 144 Amount Saved: $42.12 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 16 Mins: 16 Seconds: 43

One Week Today!

It feels more like a month though-- and I don't mean that in a bad way. It seems like such a long, long time ago that I smoked. I'm happy I've made this milestone, and anyone else that wants to celebrate with me is invited! help, help, help

Hi Danielle, It's hard to describe, but I think that I am squirmy because this is a new job (I have 2 jobs), and I'm not sure what I'm doing yet.... plus I make my own hours, plus my supervisor is out of town until next Friday. So, making myself hang around can be difficult when I feel a little confused about what needs to be done. So I made some things up for myself to do today that honestly are productive and can get me into very little trouble. Anyway, I like structure and think it helps with the quit. I already feel fairly floaty with the quit-- need solid stuff to do. I'm not sure if I'm making sense or not (I loved that post someone-- can't remember who!-- posted about constantly apologizing in advance for not making much sense. That's how I feel). Anyway, thanks for asking, and I'm hoping you can pull something salvageable out of this convoluted letter. You are brave to work with us. Or very patient. Probably both :) Deborah My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 168 Amount Saved: $49.14 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 17 Mins: 27 Seconds: 35

One Week Today!

You guys are soooooooooooo great! I love the bear alohakeia-- you have been such a constant source of support. Like a rock you are, girl! And thank you too Sullydog-- you're right-- it is getting a little easier. And thank you too Lainey-- you always have such great words of wisdom. It seems like a no-brainer that that's why it seemed so long, but that didn't even occur to me. Of course, I'm not thinking too well yet :) And thanks to unhooked just for being you. I enjoy the hell out of you! Thanks for being my cheerleader. And thank you too Sparky, Anna and JDK! Your posts and support keep me going. And especially you goofy-- thank you. You are going through this right before I am so I'm always reading your posts pretty carefully for clues to my future (kind of like reading tea leaves-- read goofy's posts) :) My reward was to go to the beach during work hours. It was about 70 today, clear, and the seals were leaping out of the waves on their way to some secret fishy spot. I sat on the edge of the sea and took time to fully appreciate this accomplishment.... and I breathed and breathed and breathed. It was so amazing that it is completely impossible to put it into words. There was no one there but me, the seals, and the fresh sweet smell of the ocean. On to week two. :) Deb My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 8 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 192 Amount Saved: $56.16 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 18 Mins: 46 Seconds: 17

Today is quit date

Hi Kelly! Congratulations! Keep posting as much as you need to-- people are really here to help you get through the difficult parts, and help you celebrate your milestones. Make sure you pamper yourself as much as possible today. I'm glad you've made this decision :) (I found chewing on popsicle sticks, and using a straw to draw fresh air into my lungs, very helpful). Thursday Night Bonfire!!!

Wow Audry-- That's pretty bad. You're right....fire that sucker! I'm throwing in the grouchiness that seems to be going on with heck week. Everyone else is fine-- it's me that's been crabby. I'm throwing that in along with the extra pounds (thanks for that idea Sue!).
