damn almost lost it today :(

OK Today is a new day. Sorry, I couldn't join the treehouse festivities. Had to get up early for work. Tomorrow will be 10 days. I am excited. Today at work at our weekly update meeting, instead of going through what I've been doing at work for the last week, I told everyone I haven't smoked in 9 days. Everyone applauded!! My boss has told me to keep checking in on SSC. It works. Thanks to all. I feel like I owe a lot to all here. Especially to One more try, and sprquits. After all I've smoked, I can't believe that I feel as good as I do. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. OK, OK, I had quit about 19 years ago. I didn't smoke for 1 1/2 years. When my wife got pregnant with our 3rd baby, she turned into the mom from hell. I couldn't do anything right. Even when I went out to find her pickled herring at 3 in the morning, it was the wrong brand. I started smoking again to calm myself, and it did work. I didn't kill her, and we had another beautiful little girl. (Now 18). By the way, we did plan all 3 kids, only we thought the last one would be a boy. Well, we stuck together, we have quit smoking together, and our girls are leaving the nest. This quit is so important to me, as I can't believe how much better I feel, as how much money I'm saving. The musquiteers are an awesome group, and I must say welcome Stan, and let these wonderful young ladies lead you through. They're my inspiration. This is a piece of cake! I didn't think of having that 1st cigarette with my coffee this morning. This was actually the first day that this has happened. Am I taking too much for granted? I'm sure that down the line, I'll have to rethink the taste of that dreaded tobacco. For now, I'm just grateful to know about the support here at SSC. One more try, Jodi, sprquits, Stan.... keep it going. We've got something great going here, and how about this....we'll live to talk about it. THIS IS SOO TOUGH

Slow Down, I stopped by going 1 hour at at time. I checked into this post all the time. I smoked for 35 years, and quit last week. The idea is to keep focused on the big prize....some extra cash in your pocket, and regaining control of your life. Tobacco is so incredibly addictive. The help I got from posting often will actually keep your hands and mind busy enough to get by the "craves". You've made the biggest step, no rely on your strength to overcome this demonic addiction. If we can do it...meaning most of us on this site, anyone can. You can do it!! Day 30? Let's talk about 300. I can't believe how much better my sense of taste and smell is already! The 35 years of smoking was just so stupid. In fact I took today off from work, and roasted a duck. It smelled so good in our house. Now I can't wait for Thanksgiving. The longer I stay away from tobacco, the happier I seem to be getting. I don't know if this is normal, but my kids seem to be enjoying the smoke free environment as well. Enough, thanks for the help. MusQuiteers

One More Try!! Good to hear from you! Yeah, my wife and I are both hanging on to our quits. This weekend will probably be a little tougher for me as I am going to a bar tomorrow with some friends. My wife will be at Disney with my oldest daughter for soap weekend. I'll actually be going out with our youngest daughter. She'll keep me in line I'm sure. You're doing great to find something else to occupy the craving. We're almost at 2 weeks, and can't give in now. I trust that sprquits and Stan are hanging in too. goofy & sprquits ONE WEEK TODAY!

Thanks to you all. This really hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be. I was smoking two packs a day. The cravings were more of a habitual ritual that i needed to break. Thanks to one more try, and sprquits, it turned into posting here at SSC, instead of lighting a cigarette. I also have to give credit to my boss, as he's allowed me whatever time I needed to be online. Obviously, the time I've spent here has gotten less and less, but it's great to know that whenever I feel the urge, I can rely on everyone here for the needed support. Thanks to all. Tomorrow will be a full 2 weeks!!!
