Brent, my Nan was a Brit thru and thru......she swore that she could tell if you had poured her tea into her cup BEFORE you added milk. (big no-no apparantly)...
Thanks for the info everyone....I was just curious, as I still WANT the caffeine (oh baybee, do I ever) but just not in coffee form. There seems to be an aftertaste, and it leaves my tummy feeling a bit sour. Tea on the other hand, seems to be OK. I do drink Diet Coke once in a while, generally one can in the afternoon....but that's about it. Water the rest of the way......
I'll do that search you spoke of Joe - my hubby is trying to convince me to quit caffeine too. At this point in my quit I am politely telling him not to push his luck ;p

thought i'd bump this for the folks in Hell Week (and anyone else who needs it!)
I became "nic free" 7 days ago
I spend about 15 minutes a day craving (not too shabby, as I was CONSUMED with cravings during Hell Week!)
I think about smoking on average about 3x a day

Stoppin' - I know how you feel......going from Hell Week into Heck
Week, I asked my hubby (who has been quit for 8 years now) WHEN WILL I STOP THINKING, WANTING, CRAVING A SMOKE???????
He said probably never. Which set me back a peg or two. However, he also said "the "wants/craves/thinks" are few and far between, and nothing like what you are going thru now""
So that made me feel better. And he's right. I no longer dread every day as another where I am battling craves. I still get them, had a doozy of a weekend LAST week, but here I am - smoke free still.
You can get thru this. Do as the others suggested, if you can....take a "ME" day today. If it has to be a PJ day, so be it. Make the most of it and relax, do something you have been putting off, like that book, that movie, that yummy dessert......
Keep strong.......we're all here for you!

Hey folks.....just wondered if anyone else has experienced this.
BIQ (before I quit) I use to down an ENTIRE pot of coffee in the morning. Had my routine, and dadgummit I stuck to it.
Now, AIQ (after I quit) I can barely choke down my first cup, and I am craving tea (Red Rose, of course, with lots of milk).
Weird or normal?
YOU decide ;)

Kaz - were you winded or perhaps having an anxiety attack which made you short of breath?
If you were just walking around, it seems to me you would not get "winded"...and I'm wondering why you described it as "scary"?
just a thought. but DO NOT use this as a reason or excuse to start back up smoking. You have been successful for 3 days now....don't look back!
keep us posted, and CONGRATS!

hey brubaker......
smoggone is right - i have talked to MORE people who have quit and have no cravings than those who quit and still are dying for a smoke.
what i have heard is that once in a while you have a thought about smoking.....fleeting and it's gone.
I had a pretty rough weekend LAST week, (had taken the patch off and was in agony) but this weekend i'm back to the way i use to be - free. so stay busy on the computer and try not to worry too much about what may or may not happen in 360 days!

Any tips on how to deal with family who still smoke, yet are afraid of your quit?
I am going home in a few months to visit, and several of my close relatives (dad, for one) smoke. Dad has made a few offhand comments when we chat on the phone, like when i told him i was going to quit, he said to me "fine, just don't advertise it to everyone - i didn't tell the world when i quit drinking
I have to stay with him when i go home in march. and i am dreading it. i would appreciate any feedback from folks who are dealing, or have dealt with this before....
