Chantix users - how did you feel?

Hello All, I am a new Chantix user and I have been bless with no side affects. It has been a great drug for me and thus far. I have try Zyban on prior attempts and had the effects of bad dreams and dry mouth. I feel certain this time with Chantix and the many lessons learn from my fail attempts before I will be able to stay smoke free. Hi everybody

Hello Stef, I am a newly quit person as well. I have attempted a number times over the years. The longest quit I had was 6 months. I have used NRT and Zyban in prior attempts. I think we all learn alot from prior attempts about what works and what does not work for us. This time I used Chantix and it has been the great!!!! I am certain I will go the distance this time. My physcial cravings are not as bad as in the past. I fight my mental one's by telling myself to smoke a cig. will not change the situation. I am proud of you going cold turkey. I know that is a tough choice one I don't think I could handle. Hang in there Stef! Going smoke free is so worth it. Beside look at all the money you save. :) Take care, God Bless and stay in the fight!!! Junkie Thinking - A Survival Guide...

Hello All, As I read through this form I can remember through my many quits having to fight the cravings. This time I been taking Chantix and it has been a great drug to help me with the physical craving. I have been using a rubiks cube to get through the mental part and all had work out well until Wed of this week. You see when I start this quit I sat down an ask God to truly help me with this quit. I told the Lord that I was truly tried of smoking and that I truly never wanted to go back to smoking. Well my friends the Lord kept his word to me and he has help me put smoking behind me mentally and physically. You see Wed. I had a dental appointment for a root canel. This is one of reasons I was trying to quit because it was affecting my teeth so bad. Anyway the Lord help me out big time because the tooth that needed a root canal was too bad and the doctor had to pull it. Hence since Wed of this week I have not taken any chantix, or any other nrt nor have I had any craving mentally or physically for cig. The Lord does have a sense of humor but pulling that tooth sure did kill all that was left in me about my cig habit. I thank the Lord for helping me and now after 10 days I feel like I never smoke in my life before. I must admit that getting a tooth pull is a hard way to quit smoking but I have to admit it sure has work. I guess my lessons/ advice to others is when you ask the Lord for help in quitting smoking be specific because he may help you in ways you really may not want to be be. Take care, God bless all, and stay strong! all things are possible through God. Day 31 and Going Strong!!! Hurry

Hello All, Today is 31 of my quit and I tell you it went by fast. I must admitt I had some help from the drug Chanix that gave me a great start but most of my help came from the Lord! I ask him with the deepest pray I could give to help me put my cig. down this quite. I told the Lord I wanted this quite to be it and he gave me a hand with that. Nine days after I quite with Chantix I had a back tooth pulled. The Lord had the Dentist pull my smoke tooth I call it. Since my tooth was pull I have not craved a cig, tasted a cig. or even dream of a cig. (smile) The good news is that I take only one Chantix a day now instead of two and I only take that when I think I needed it. My Lord has a sense of humor when he answer my prayer to quit this time. Having a tooth pull is a hard way to quit but the Lord knew what I needed to get my attention and keep it and for that I am grateful. I hope all of you are doing well and will continue to be sucessful at fighting this crazy addition call smoking. I know in my heart now I have VICTORY with the Lord and my missing tooth. (Smile) :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/31/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 31 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 620 Amount Saved: $124.00 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 16 Mins: 52 Seconds: 57

Another Start

Hello MamaD, Hang in there!!! You stop smoking for 5 years once before I am sure you can go the distance again and more. Clearly you just hit a speed bump on the way back to being the non-smoker you truly are. I quit it seems about a million and one times but finally after 30 years of smoking Iam truly smoke free. Most of all you have to quit for you. Quit because you are truly fed up with it and I am sure the rest will fall into place. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/31/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 40 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 800 Amount Saved: $160.00 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 18 Mins: 14 Seconds: 23

Hello All, It's been 65 days and I am not sure where the time went. For some reason this during this quit time seem to move fast. I am not sure why. I think when I figure out what to do with my anytime minutes. ( time you use to smoke.) the day did not seem to drag on so much. Weaning off chantix/Halfing the dosage?

Hello All, It is my 7 week on this quit and Chantix has truly help me. I too have thought of how to ween myself off Chantix because you just can't stay on it forever. So about 3 weeks ago I went to 1 pill a day and I have been doing just fine with it. I think in two weeks I will try to do 1 pill every other day and see how that works. I hope to extend the days out so much between pills that finally I will not need Chantix at all. But I just have to see. Right now 1 pill a day does me find and I just have to take the rest of the steps one day at a time.
