I have the exact same problem! I truly thought I was the only one having this type of anxiety. I cant tell you the number of times I have been to the
er thinking I was having a heart attack...ekg's, doc visits... I have been trying to lose weight but avoid the exercise because of the anxiety and pains that come with it. The fear itself of heart attack or high heart rate keeps me from exercising. More than one doc and test have confirmed my heart is fine. I could use help with this too.
I just joined a couple days ago. I'm working my way through the sessions slowly. I have had severe panic/anxiety disorder for several years yet it seems to cycle. I seem to get things under control for a while, then bam!!One day sitting at my desk at work it all comes rushing back. I have my first ever visit with a psychiatrist on the 5th. My family doc says he really doesn't know enough about the meds to help me further. I've been on several with bad side effects so now I am afraid to try anything new. I'm only on lorazepam right now. Hoping to find some friends here that understand how real this is.
Yes, I turned on some music on my computer, that helped...after taking a walk around the courthouse. I usually go hide in the bathroom for a bit to get away from everything and everyone.
Thanks for replying and your ideas!
I understand. Mine happen the same way. Don't have any for a while, then all the sudden sitting at work, or standing in line at the store and it hits out of know where.
I would like to know how to get past the anxiety of waiting for the next one to happen.
And sometimes its not a full blown panic attack, but just the anxiety...anxious unsettled feeling of when is the shoe going to drop.
Hopefully someone can help us both find the answer!
