Looking back and moving forward

Cardiotech,

I was prescribed Lexapro and Klonopin along with Xanax. The Klonopin is the one I read the horror stories on. I think it did really well last night. I slept like a baby. I actually slept in, but, I felt like I was reliving my early 20s with a hangover when I awoke. I'm sure that will go away as I adjust to it.

Positive Self-Growth from Shari

Shari,

Your post is so upbeat and positive. Congratulations on your success. How did you get cured from panic disorder? I want to be cured from this but have been told I will have it forever, but can manage it with CBT and medications, then CBT alone.

Have you ever considered helping or inspiring others with a panic disorder and/or agoraphobia? You'd be such a great help to all of us in the other sections on this site.

Thank you so much for sharing such a impressionable and inspirational post.

Adjusting to new meds.

Just dropping in to say hello. Out of the three medications I started, I had to go off of one of them. I was not with it for several days until I stopped taking it and then it had to wear off. I'm doing better with the other two medications. I still think I would be fine on just one medication as I am continuing with the CBT. It was a setback for me on the medication that was causing me problems as I wasn't able to drive for exposure therapy or do much of anything except sleep and be a zoned out couch potato. Trial and error until Dr and my body gets it all together.

I need help understanding the homework pleeeeaseee

Hi calay and welcome.

If you have to write out the forms, write them exactly as they are in printable form. Before moving on to the next weeks session make sure you have done the homework for the session you are on. Doing the homework is very important. My first few weeks here I had filled out at least 3 dozen sheets or more. I was here every day while doing the sessions.

If you want to contact one of the health advisors there is a link in the far bottom right corner in a light blue bar that reads Contact Us. Just click that link.

I hope this helps.

Yes, the homework is to help you. It helps you find possible triggers for your anxiety/panic
and to learn to recognize patterns in your anxiety/panic.

As far as the admins being able to see your diary, I don't know. I never asked that question.

My main anxious thought.... looking for some help, please, on how to challenge this one !

Hi and welcome as well KLD,

I challenged mine with the tests results from my Doctors office. Part of panic attacks is the fear of dying, fear of losing control, etc..

While doing your relaxation breathing reaffirm yourself there is nothing wrong with yourself health wise. It helped for me.

I read your introduction as well and I started off this program without medication and it does work that way. Just know that there could be a time when medications would be helpful and don't feel opposed to trying a different medication or a lower dose.

I look forward to reading about your progress.

hello

Hi and welcome Belinda,

I too have a fear of driving. This program and the people here have helped me get back behind the wheel of a car. I have been involved in several car accidents and driving was one of my biggest fears. I had a set back on the 25th of September but have been able to drive to the grocery store since then and am still making progress. Good luck and we are looking forward to hearing about your accomplishments.
