I am so proud of you for sticking up for yourself and for playing netball. Man was I sore after playing. My legs and back ache.
Today I have finally finished painting the main floor of my house. It feels good to finally accomplish something on my own from start to finish. Tomorrow I am taking a bus to a shopping mall. I am trying to think positive about going on the bus.
The last fews days for me have been really good. This is the best I have felt in years.
Take care - Sharon
Gabbi,
My trip on public transport was a success. I went to a large shopping mall and walk around, had a coffee and then came home. I was out for about 3 hours. My next big hurdle is to be able to handle stress, and I think since it is the holiday season I will have enough stress shopping and maybe going to a party or two. Tomorrow I have my therapy appointment, which I am hoping that I can come out of happier than my two previous therapy apptoinments. I am also seeing my psychiatrist and family doctor. It will be a busy day.
Take care and I hope you are doing great!
Sharon
Try and relax. I know it is easier said than done. How about a long hot bath, listen to some soft music and light some candles. You are a strong person and I know you will get through this.
Think positive,
Sharon
For the first time in 8 months I rode public transport. I was extremely nervous when I got to the station, but once on the bus I was fine. I then walked around a shopping mall for about 2 hours and came home on the bus. I had planned to do this last week but chickened out. I find the only way I try something new is if I fill out an experiment form and then I know I have to do it.
Sharon
Gabbi,
All my appointments went fine. I fell really good today. My psychiatrist and I created a plan for my return to work. I am actually looking forward to going into work starting in January, ever so slowly. I fell better each and every day. I think the netball played a large role in that. I am so looking forward to playing again this Saturday.
How was your netball?
Take care
Sharon
Liz,
I got the experiment form when completing Session 7 of hte CBT program. You use the form when planning an trip outside. Part 1 is to be completed before the experiment. You write down what exactly you plan to do for an activity, and what you predict your behaviours, feelings and thoughts will be, along with rating your main feeling or emotion. Part 2 of the form is to be completed after the experiment. You write down what you actually did and what happened with your behaviours, feelings and thoughts and rate your main feeling or emotion after the experiment. You also write down the results of your experiment, what those results mean and if you will repeat the experiement, if you should make changes and that are those changes. I find it extemely useful. For example, I had planned on going on the bus last week but I chickened out. This week I used the experiment form and I knew I had to do it. It was an incentive for me to go outside.
I hope this helps,
Sharon
Welcome,
You might think it is a lot of work but it is worth it. I have finished 8 sessions and I have a marked improvement. It is alot of work but just think of the alternatives.
All you can do it try and we are all here to support you.
Sharon :)
Gabbi,
I am sorry to hear that you aren't doing well. You are a strong person and you don't deserve what your husband is doing to you. I really do think it is time to leave. He just keeps bringing you and the kids down. Search deep down inside and you will know what to do.
I know you are a smart, intelligent, beautiful, and strong women who has hit a rough spot. This to will pass over time. I know you will get better soon and become that strong and independant person you were before.
Things here are going fine. I am going outside every day. I have now taken public transport twice and I will be playing netball again tomorrow. I am able to go to my kids soccer games and ice hockey games.
Keep your chin up and think positive thoughts.
Sharon
