Hi Folks, I quit on Feb. 24,2011. I used the patcxh as directed and am now off all nicotine for 6 weeks. I continue to read about my addiction and I feel I am better able to stay smoke free the more I learn

Thank you for your comments Josie. I used the patch and followed the quit plan closely. Each time I stepped down I felt withdrawl symptoms for a few days but did not experience a "Hell Week" The NRT seemed to spread out the pain. It took a lot longer to get all the nicotine out of my body(2 months)but the final step 7mgs to 0 mgs was relatively painless and now I am relying on "Never take another puff" to keep me free for life. I really do appreciated you responding to my post.

I REALLY want to live the rest of my life without cigarettes.

Hi Kevin, It's really important follow the plan closely. You don't want to go off the NRT to early but you also don't want to get hooked by staying on after the ten weeks. Thanks for writing and lets stay in  touch!

We are all in the same boat Debby. We are nicotine addicts but now we are asymptomatic and will be as long as we live so long as we never allow any, any, any ANY nicotine back into our bodies. I know we will make it Debby.
