Thanks to all of you, i appreciate the congrats...looks like there are quite a few of us with very close to quit dates together here! I am so sick with bronchitis, that even the thought of smelling a cig makes me queasy...guess all things happen for a purpose. All I know is I feel like a non smoker and do not think there is any way I would go thru this all over again. I am SO happy to be able to say that with quite a good dose of certainty. This website has helped so much. I am sure I, like everyone else, will have those trigger moments, but I am also committed to this quit. Thak you all again and have a happy day! Let's get over whatever pettiness there was here over the weeknd (another reason I guess it was good I was not on here then)! and get back to the focus...and that is being smokeless!!

Hey Kids!! I know there are many of you out there in the medical field that are on this website and I was hoping maybe someone can give me a bit of advice. Is there are reason linked to quitting smoking that would explain why I developed such a severe case of bronchitis AFTER I quit smoking? My lungs and chest hurt so badly and have since Saturday. I have been to the Dr and am on Z-pak antibiotics and 40 mg of prednisone a day and still feel horrible. He told me if I had waited 48 hours more, I would have been hospitilized..is this just a coincidence, or have others experienced anything like this? Thank you in advance for any and all helpful suggestions, I don't have time to be sick, I have to take care of my Mother. :confuse:

Kristilu..Here is my personal pledge from my page on this website:
My Public Pledge
I know this is going to be considered a "wrong" answer, but I am quitting for my husband of 38 years. He has COPD and is very ill. Intellectually, I know I need to quit, but emotionally, my body still wanted to smoke. For me, doing this as an act of love for my husband has made it easier for me to accompish...different strokes for different folks.
I am now over 3 weeks into the quit, and I do not regret it at all. You hang in there and know that you are doing the right thing. Peace and blessings be with you and know that you are not in this alone. jsut never ever give up..Remember, postive thoughts = postive actions
