Congrats on day 98! I'm on day 4 and know it will get easier. Stick with it Stella and thank you for your support. I try really hard to redirect my thoughts to doing something else when I get a "wave". Still tuff in those trigger areas, car, woodstove etc., I'm on Wellbutrin and kind of really got started before it had a chance to make my cigs taste bad. I had only taken 2 and I woke up that morning and decided I was going to try. But I now know the cig would taste really bad even if I tried. Bummer, coffee does not taste right either, but a small price to pay to stay quit!

Thanks, Getting it, I appreciate your support.  A problem shared is a problem halved, so it's super nice to get feedback here.  I already feel better since posting that. Well, maybe not "better", but I don't want to smoke.  It's just one of those moods where I feel fussy, as you said (which I love, it's exactly how I feel lol) and like I want *something* to take me out of the moment or out of the feeling.  I refuse to cut off my nose just to spite my face, though.  NO SMOKING.  And I don't even want to smoke, not really. I just want to do *something*.  I don't want anyone reading this to think that, over three months into my quit, I still deal with really visceral cravings - I definitely do not suffer from those anymore.  What I do experience is the odd thought, or urge, to smoke, but there's no urgency about it like there was with the early cravings. I can easily see that it's a false dangling carrot, and not an actual thing to grab at.  I'm just feeling really uncomfortable today and unhappy, and when I feel bad I want my security blankets, you know?  What do all the quitters use for comfort on days like these?  Or should I be learning to sit with this? I could use some ideas since I'm not thinking my clearest at the moment. 
 
On the gratitude front, my quit has inspired my partner to give it a go!  He started on Champix a short time ago and told me in amazement that he only smoked a half pack yesterday (he generally smokes 1-2 packs a day).  He is gearing up for his quit date on October 1, so we shall see what happens.  Like I've said before, whether he succeeds or not, my quit will stay intact.  I am NOT doing this whole thing again.  I just need to quit being a whiny baby today

Hey Stellablue, I've been following your blog and see today your having a tuff one. Yesterday was mine. It was my first day of quitting and I got fussy. I know I need to be honest with people around me to let them know I'm struggling. Sorry you having a bad one, but you've done great so far!

I'm in a bad mood this past week and I want to smoke, and I'm pissy that I no longer smoke and so it's not an option.  Just needed to vent so that I can see it written out and looking all ridiculous.  I feel like a full-grown adult trying not to throw a full-out tempter tantrum.  I want to do something that's bad for me, dammit. I'm feeling rebellious.  But I won't smoke, because I don't actually have a real reason to smoke.  Smoking wouldn't even solve my problem of wanting to have a hissy fit anyway. I would just have two problems instead of one (that's one of my favourite mantras).

 CONGRATULATIONS on your ¼ trip around the sun!   You're doing great, but be sure and keep your guard up. Those triggers are EVERYWHERE as you know.

STELLA JUST MADE IT TO 90 DAYS!!!!! I have been a non-smoker for 3 months now.  One quarter of the trip around the sun, completed.  An entire season.
 
Do I want to smoke anymore?  Nope.  Did I kind of want a cigarette yesterday? Yep. Lol.  I'm in a new situation and have some compounding stressors going on at the moment, but what else is new?  Such is life as a human.  There was never going to be a perfect time for me to quit.  The "perfect" time was *any* time.  The perfect time was 90 days ago, simply because I DID IT. I put the smokes down.  I learned from you guys and from my own insights and experiences how to walk away.  How to view myself as a non-smoker.  I found some joy in it along the way, which was super neat.  The past 90 days have been a great ride, in retrospect - there is a lot of strength to be gained and lot of self-esteem to discover by putting down something that is harming me.  And tomorrow will be even better because it will be 91 days free.  I can't wait to get to a full hundred days.  Wowza.  It's in sight.
