Here for you Red even though you know I don't spend much time here.

You can do this, you are a strong person and the time will go by.  And you will be a butterfly again.

Ashley,,I will check out the mindfulness for pain and work on my sewing as a positive distraction again and post here once I am out of pain and healed enough to put my eye glasses on my face again. It is impossible to get involved in any positive distractions when you can't see what you are doing. Maybe I'll get my partner to post for me here when I find I losing it again and need a release of some kind. I will do my best to reach out for help again when I am able.....Red....:(

I'm so sorry to hear about all the pain and anxiety. It sounds like an excrutiating situation. I hope it gets easier with time. You do whatever feels right for you right now and if that means taking a break from here, sewing and whatever else you need to, you do so. We will be here whenever you feel up to it. I will be sending you lots of positive energies and when you feel up to it be sure to look into using mindfulness for pain relief. I know mindfulness has been working for you so maybe this will help a bit. I have never tried it myself but there is a research base for it.If you do end up looking into this (when you are ready) then let us know what your experience is.

Hope you feel better very soon!

Hi Ashley! Not sure how to answer that question Right Now? but I'll give it a shot. First off I am staying indoors and out of the sun till I heal and secondly I am not doing anything that is overly physical until I heal and putting lots of ice bags on my face. Now the Big Question is how do I deal with the pain both emotionally and physically at this moment and the fear of more painful surgery in the future with General anesthetic shots that don't work. So I guess I get to look forward to at least 8 shots to numb up the area again so that I can have surgery again and maybe the doctor can try to make me look like something less than a monster next time and try not to hurt me on the operating table again. Oh and I will try not to have nightmares again like I did last night. That would help me heal. Yes the pain and fear and reality of this all is very tiring and extremely anxiety provoking. So I guess I would say I am Not a Happy Camper right now. Just full of Pain, Sadness, Anger and Fear.. I am depressed to say the least but that is a given.....I did sit down and work at my sewing machine for a little while today but had to stop because of the pain and swelling of my face. I guess I will not be able to my eyeglasses for quite a while now either even though it feels like they are sitting on my face all them time now. I can't see to sew without my eye glasses or drive or read either. You know what? Even though this is a long venting post. I am at a loss for what to say and what to do now....I Hate this.....Red:).....

Great to hear Red!

How will you ensure you make healing a priority in these next few months?

Everything went well. All is clear. I am on the mend. Now the waiting begins. Will I transform into a butterfly again...if not the doctor says he can tweek it a bit with another surgery if need be...So for now we will wait and see...The healing part is a long process. I should know more in a few months....Red....

Hi Ashley, Thanks for showing your support. I having been reading posts from others on various sites who have had this surgery and reconstruction. Being fearful and anxious before and after seems to be a normal and universal reaction. Which I found comforting. The all said they were pretty upset before and after surgery when they saw all the stitches and swelling but in a few weeks their wounds from surgery started to look a lot better. Yes I am scared but their stories help me in that the let me know what to expect from a emotional and physical standpoint. So I am hoping that this information will help me not to be shocked at first and realize that things will get and look better in time..I do have lots of time on my hands these days for sure so I should be able to rest and take it easy while I am healing. Which will be a good thing later. It's not such good thing right now but I am grateful that I will be able to rest and take care of myself like I will need to later....Red...

Hi Red,

I am so glad to hear you are getting such good medical care and that the prognosis is so positive. Great news! I am also very impressed with your attitude and all the skills you are using. Very, very nice work. You made me smile reading it.

I am sorry to hear you had a bad night though. Health scares are never easy to handle. I think a bit of fear and triggering is normal. It sounds like you are still doing a really good job coping with this though.
