Getting by.

I have spent so much time thinking and countering the possibility of panic in every situation that it has become part of my life. It doesn't cause anxiety but the last step here I think is to just live life and ignore the possibility of it causing anxiety. That I believe is the last thought pattern I have to change.

Sitting in the boat fishing without a care in the world other than how I was going to get out of it was as free as a person can get. And even at that I didn't think about it till it was time to load up and go. The next time I unloaded the boat, got in and out by myself and loaded it by myself. Pretty good for a person that needs a cane for balance. No anxious thoughts, just solution thoughts.

I think I have the negatives buried enough that I can do this. Going to try anyway. Time to get on with life.

Davit,
Now that I think about it I am pretty much cured of panic now too. Once I quit doing things that I thought I should do and started doing the things I wanted to do the panic left. Even so I have been experiencing some depression lately so I started digging into my negative core beliefs and now understand where the negative thoughts are coming from. It has been a bit depressing facing these demons but I am coming out of it slowly but surely now that I understand myself better..So for now I am trying to engage myself in some pleasant activities again to give my mind a little break..
Positive Distractions are my medicine of choice these days..

Hi Davit,

I have had a hard time getting on the sites too and like you I have been here a long time too. So maybe it it is time to move on..I will miss the chats we have in the groups here..

It's Good to hear that all is well and congratulations on the fishing trips. Rainbow trout season will start going good once it cools off here. I used to do a lot of fishing and haven't been fishing in years either. We are in a severe drought here so the water levels are very low in many of our lakes and reservoir's now. My favorite man made lake is shut down and the one natural lake has had most of the water drained out of it to supply water to the people in the cities. So I may have to travel north in the travel trailer if I want to try my hand a rainbow fishing this year..Of course there is a small window of opportunity before it starts snowing up north and the campgrounds are shut down for the winter season..Anyway it's something to think about..

Take care my friend,

First time I could get on in a long time, just stopping to say I'm probably leaving if it is going to be this much trouble to get on. Five years is a long time anyway. I may still read posts though. You could say that since I have been for all intents and purposes cured for years why am I still here anyway. Time to move on I think.

Red, yellow with five black diamonds or if I use my fly rod a brown caddis dry fly. Rainbow trout. First time in 30 years that I have gone fishing. I think I am done for the year.

hugs

The Canadian litre is just a bit bigger than a quart otherwise interchangeable. It hold four large peaches. I used 96 peaches. That is a lot of peeling. I used a large metal measuring spoon to help slip the skins off. I could almost get the whole skin off in one piece. When you are peeling 96 peaches you need a challenge to keep it interesting. There are 16 peaches left that Karin has a plan for. Just as well, I'm tired of canning, before this I did pickled beets and pickled onions. And refrigerator pickles. We have ropes of onions hanging up. (7) Onions in a basket. Pumpkins under the table, squash on the floor. Freezers full of vegetables and sauerkraut on the counter bubbling away. More cabbages for more sauerkraut and today at the farmers market I bought more bulbs to plant. Karin bought tomatoes and stuff for salsa. There are two more markets this month then it is over. Tomorrow I might go to a friends for some green rhubarb to make wine. Mine is all red. Monday I want to go fishing if the weather holds.

Peach cobbler sounds good.

I made a peach cobbler today. I had to tell the toddlers it was oranges. They don't want to eat anything peach after watching James and the giant peach.

I brought some peaches to my mom, in hospital, and she loved them! She couldn't stomach the roast beef for some reason, so half a peach, and yogurt, with some cheese in a small bun probably got her some protein. I suppose things could be worse...Thanks for your canning story, since I think I get inspired here sometimes. I just feel I've collapsed...

Canning peaches. Almost half done. Bought three 20 pound cases. Putting them in quarts. Mostly just time consuming. I want to do this because this winter they will be so good. Going to the farmers market tomorrow looking for cabbage for sauerkraut. Mine could grow a bit more but might not. Going to freeze tonight but they can take a bit of frost.  Same as the strawberries. Everything else is dead.

Attitude plays a big part in whether "want to" works. For me it works. I ache bad enough that if I had to do the peaches I probably wouldn't. I never really noticed the pain today even though it was there. Positive kept me from putting it into memory. Instead I have accomplishment.

Davit

PS, "want to" just came to me one day as a solution when I was fed up with anxiety. I'm glad it did.
