I gotta get this done

yes goofy
all the body's resouces go to dealing with the stress and very little left for the immune system.
nutrition!  chicken soup - is a good source of proteinssss and vitaminesss and all are bio-available
sleep!  you need rest - you physical body need to recup!
MD-  be sure you have not caught a nasty virus while around all those sick people (dirty vents, dirty hands, and surfaces).     An ounce of prevention!!!

I have just gotten rid of a nasty throat thing that made my neck look like a post!

link between being ill and feeling depressed?

hi rosie.
welcome back.

For the longest time I was afraid of leaving for a vacation and even lied to my husband about not getting the same days as him.  I was afraid of leaving my life behind and all of it would explode with me controling everything every moment of every day.  I was afraid of leaving and of getting lost and hurt far from my comfort zone.  So watching you go far away is watching a courageous person.

You probably had way too much fun !!!

seriously, you probably had a great trip but stress is stress, good and bad.  So being sensitive to it only has you in a blue period that is the disappointment of returning to reality.  You were exhausted to start with so returning to germ heaven ... well the little fellas looked at you as "fresh-meat".   It is entirely too normal to return to our old habits when we are  absolutely miserable!  but challenge , challenge , challenge!!!

Rosie
of course you are sad winter is coming and you have just come back from a wonderful trip.  So the transition from the nice days of summer to the blah of winter is a bit harder.  But winter is not that bad Right? (I am not the right person to ask! I hate the cold).
THe things of day to day life have probably piled up a bit! and are a bit big, and with your high level of exhaustion it is normal to be discouraged and frustrated.  Let your body deal with things one at a time!  Right?  even if you wanted to you could not rush the cold out like poor relatives that overstayed their welcome   So rest, nutrition, and acceptance.

First Steps

Julie.

If you are not comfortable asking support from your husband then you are not forced to do it!  You are not obliged to advise your neighbours when you intend to cut your lawn, it is hard to keep it a secret but you do what you have to and they have nothing to say!

Your illness.  Your health.

First Steps

sorry julie, kiddie emergency.
my little one wanted to apologise for the tantrum and the horrible things she said to me in the ride home

As I was saying.  I think that as the person with an illness we are responsible for looking for treatment.  Therefore, we also have the choice who we want to support us.  And not everyone is equiped to support a depressed person.  As you have seen with your husband, it takes a certain amount of care and sympathy and even some distance from our turmoil to be with us. ( In my case I need someone who can recognise when I am beyond reason and need help... and my husband cannot see that! he sees only the strong woman he loves since forever .  )

Julie,
I firmly believe that if you choose to seek help and do not want to discuss your choices with your husband you are entitled to that!  However, I do know that you have an illness that you might need help with form time to time so you will need to have some sort of support in place.  Do you have other family members that you can depend on?

Oh by the way, there will always be the gang here if you need to chat and vent the nasties.

Alot of challenging later...

MO3,
are you sure SHE is left without a base to build future relationships based on trust?  Or is your negative core value projected onto her situation?

My marriage is in crisis...

Diva,
I live in Quebec and it is super-social here.  So there are ways into the heaps of bureauocracy to get aid but in the states ??? I am at a disadvantage.  I know the WGPA because I became a foster parent when my grand mother died in Nov 1995 to my 15yr old sister and 45yr old mother.  ... I nearly lost it then and to tell the truth I am surprised none of the drs saw me as bipo then??? as well it was the age of the super-woman.

WIndsy learning how to BREATHE and stretch

Hi Windy,

It is great that the deep breathing is so beneficial !   If you have a lot of fears to the point of phobias or anxieties, these might be the sources of Some of your pain.  Shallow rapid breathing can cause several symptomes that mimic indigestion and mild-heartattack (chest pain, tingles in fingers, loss of feeling in jaw, etc).

Physical exercises, deep meditative breathing and the box breathing here are very good remedies !!!  Also, there is a fine line between listening to what out body is telling us and being hyper-vigilant for the smallest of signals.  So it is perfectly okay to notice that as the week wears on you might feel a bit more tired each day. It could point out that you are coming down with a cold. However, you will cause your anxiety to rise to the limits of tolerable if you take your pulse every 37 minutes and worry that it has risen even if you have not gotten up from your chair in the last 15 minutes.  Fatigue in the first case is your body telling you that something is coming along.  THe second case is one of hyper-vigilance and where one is looking for a symptome.

All this Rambling because I am in a mixed stated these past two days ... and need to get all the ideas out in a bunch, to say...
Windy.
Just because one doctor cannot find the exact source of your pain does not make it unimportant or not real.  If you have a way to deal with it like exercise, or deep breathing then these natural methods should be exploited to the full potential.
I noticed that you mentioned some fears and anxiety and when I am wound up like a spring it hurts me in the middle of my chest ... the first times I thought I was going to die at 12 yr old.  I thought the dr who told me it was stress was crazy and that I was a hopeless case in the last moments of my life!!!  Well, I have learned a lot since then and my General Anxiety Disorder manifests itself as a tight sharp pain just above my heart or as a burning from the middle of my chest to the back of my mouth (acid-reflux).  So if you are Stressed and Running Ragged, you might be doing yourself the best thing!!!

I hope all this new things, the recipie, the company, the job, the class, the social-group, and the dr appointment all go well.
Do you find some time to rest in the middle of all that?
