strange introductions!

I have been thinking...

I have been better!
I am not so emotionally fragile, and others have noticed.  my boss has given me certain challenges (bad habits). And is okay with talking to me - I don't burst into tears at the slightest emotional reference.
I am also working on how i began fragile... how so many years ago I had no adults to protect me from being spanked and touched.

I am better and do not need to escape. I do not need to run away from my home on the weekends. I am learning the value on the work done at home and the pleasure we have as a family there.  This winter will be interesting - and less expensif!

I am looking after my body. I am sleeping more regularly.  I am eating healthy nutrious food... and I will soon start to cut portions.  My bipolar disorder is relatively stable.  and I saw a workshop at revivre that really peaked my interest. So I have realistic plans.

I took a two month holiday from my gang of doctors and am planning on reading and living a bit.  Once I get rid of this virus...

virus - colds; flu; and ucks

hi sheba,
in summer, i get the one where i loose my voice and sound like a sexy mickey mouse .

in winter, i get what the kids bring home from school.  My 10 yrs old son has several girl friends that hugs and kiss him... hello, good-nite, thank you, you are so sweet,  ... here are my germs....  and my 5 year old daughter has found her qunituplets that were separated from two lifetimes-ago... so they spend so much of the day hugging, kissing, and making up for lost time.... and sharing present germs...   my husband works with the construction guys who install equipment outside most of the day...in-out-in-out. they are either over or under dressed and easily bring back whatever is in the ventalation systems .

And I know wash, wash, wash.  we do.  but as soon as i get the little buggers at school. as soon as we get home. as soon as the stuff comes up.... and still I get to share.

Feeling good!

hi -ranting- Pete.

I was worried there for a bit.  Thought that cheerful-bugger took a miracle cure and got rid of our friend!  Of course I am trying to be humorour.  any success?

All our efforts seem to be marked by a plateau or two.  We progress our enormous efforts feel like mountain climbing and all of a sudden stuck.  We are looking at a rock face turning round and round in a holding pattern.   This is the rest period, and the moment where those like me have to assimulate the lessons.  These plateau are the moments were I repete something those 21 times for it to start to become a habit.

Pete look back.  You did feel good!!!  You did make progress!!!  Lucky is not for me to judge...  Remember you are still stress sensitive, and in the northern hemisphere SAD is about to become a problem for many.  You have also been very hard on yourself conerning joining the group for those with social phobia.
So why is every day such a struggle?  because you have so many issues that are still unresolved that clang-clong-cling along behind you everyday like the cans on the newly-weds car.   Pete you are starting your journey to health and there are a lot good days a head and a lot of miserable days as well.

If you want out of the mud, sorry.  you have to plant a garden and nuture it to see that mud is good.  and every once in a while add compost. (this is bad language humour)

My cat

With my virurs Friday, I appreciated having a cat in the house.  Tigre-botte is my son's tri-colored Mainecoon. He is such a sweet huge cat that does wonders to keep my legs warm!!! feet to knees!!

When he is hungry and the kids forget to fill the food bowl, tigre grabs the waist of my pants and pulls at me.  But I do not do litter boxes!!!

Diva,

How are your other cats?

Worring about swimming classes - somehow fear of water

hi Sheba,

different classes might offer you something more in your confort area.  You are taking a class for your health and pleasure, not to torture yourself with more worries.

Most fitness classes at the local pool here are in the shallow end of the pool with boards and sponges and elastics that work with the water's resistance on building strenght and cardio.  The swim clubs offer the lenghts back-and-forth with various pieces of equipment.

i hope you find a find a fun class.

hey

karla,
welcome to the forum.  I hope you find the tools and information really useful and it helps you to manage your illness.
may i ask???
why the prejudice against medications?

**it seems like good mental health and medication are understood to be opposites**  or are they just part of that stigma-thing?  don't worry Karla i often ramble and question while i answer... it is part of me having a conversation with you .

Health of Parents.........and a crazy introduction...........

robins,
welcome to the forum!

you certainly have a lot on the table... can you still find your plate .   I really mean you have a lot of issues and if teens in the house are angry and violent I can see why you are exhausted - physically.  The situsations with your parents is an emotional drain and together there is precious little left for you to use to recover and to heal with.  Medication is a good thing in that it maintains the status quo, but I know that somehow, sometime we need to deal with the stress and pressure and with all the pain.

Your husband is one of those people who deal with stress better.  He is more resilliant.  that is all.  He is not stronger, better, or a genius.  He has a skill that you do not have.  You probably bake a better birthday cake and remember to make it on the right day to save everyone's feeling!  and you have not gloated about that ...yet...

I hope we all give you a good safe place for you to let loose !!

Diva news...

diva,
i do not remember if OCD is part of your anxiety ... but anxiety is definetely getting the better of you.
chest pain, digestive problem / eating , even the tingling arm -circulation/oxygenation
**no wonder a good walk often helps you, you regain control of your thoughts, breathing, and probably become a lot more calm as well!!!

diva,
have you thought that you might have trouble with the anxiety meds because you know full well that a good walk will do the same thing as a pill? with less side-effects. You might feel the source of the trouble is life moving three km/hr too fast for you and the pills will not help.  And the Long-term anxiety remedy is to change how you see the situation.  So if you cannot control the world around you you can at least ... present a perfect front ... and even that seems to have a flaw?  Which would be more OCD ...
