Feeling good!

Hi Pete!

This is absolutely great news.  let us know how the group went!!!

And you know it is not a matter of never being happy, you probably read and remember that you are going to be sensitive to stress for a long while.  Stress will exhaust you and you will time to recover.   So you are aware and prepared not negative and not looking at the world through rose glasses either.

It is great that you are following up the presciption with solid work!  Back to the job. The group for social anxiety.  The exercises for your depression.  With what you learn and the good habits you lay down now the future should be a lot more manageable for you!

And you are not happy with what is around the corner ... cross the street.

pain

hi rose,
I guess it was part of my survival.  I did not want to be like them.  i did not want to be what they thought of me.  I wanted to be like those people on TV and on the commercials, accepted, friendly, well surrounded, loved. So I had to look at what I had to work with.

I guess my creativity came in handy there.

I did not want to be superficial . I wanted to be what was being sold!!! That special something we are all looking for (when we are thinking of more than surviving the next out burst or hoping the next pan is not hot).

And high school was terribly BORING!!! I guess I passed but there was always something better to be wondering about... and in there I learned about me.

Diva news...

Diva,

Have you spoken to the pharmacist about your fear of addiction to this particular medication?   Or to you Doctor?  Addiction is not just a chemical dependance but a mindset/way of thinking.

I have read a lot of nonsense about how anti-depressants are additive. (my memory the way it is i cannot remember which site gave the study... i'll look it up...) In the sense that without it the body is miserable.  THat is not true. This is withdrawl syndrome but people are able to function without the anti-depressant after ... that is why so many are able to try different TYPEs of anti-depressants for depression before finding one that works.   I have not seen a bunch of fake-depressives looking for their high yet.

all this rambling to point out that your anxity meds might have a time-lime, doses, and thinking errors attached to the level of addiction.  You need to become the expert on the this type of little pill.  See what the manufacturer has to say about their product (they do Not want to be siued). See what the person who sold you the pills has to say.  See what others who are taking this stuff have to say (CrazyMeds is one place on the net).

Your fears feed your anxiety.

Feeling good!

hi Pete,

It was good that you got to go and you saw some of the people that are part of the group.  Anyone special? or just a bunch of average people?  normal you and me...  The area look okay?    All these are part of the usual escape route.  If you are a bit more familiar with the surroundings perhaps you will have that much less to "worry" about next week...

You might have seen the people who had homework!  Say hi to a face you recognise next week and not a difficult group to intergrate.  I know I spent 2 years at mine.

so ... Next week register.

oh by the way which web zine?  can we browse your Work?

pain

I am sure you are far from boring.  But being the new kid over and over again takes a lot of courage and strenght.  And if it is not according to your schedule you do not have the time to integate and heal from the last move... I know about that also.

So I think you would have some facinating stories about looking at life from the outside.  Also a lot of experience and maybe some early adaptations you developed to make the transistions easier.  Or to check out how long the transition would last ... no point waisting energy if the parents are going to haul us out of here in 6 months?

Also, you probably discovered a world of ideas and caracters in those books.  You must have seen how each author expressed their view of the world and their view of people.  Even a trashy romance tells you sometime about the writer and the audience they have targeted...  So boring I do not think so!

The Boring person to me is often a person who is one chit-chat subject and never goes deeper.  I watched Dancing with the Stars and the ladies were so pretty but the judges were so mean.  And why did they throw off her she was so nice?    It is a program and the point is to have a winner...   so the viewers voted to throw her off... she was not enteraining.   But she was so pretty.  Well did she do her dance well? What kind of dance did she do? did she do something special?  She had a nice dress and her hair was well pinned.    SEE BORING!

Feeling good!

Pete,

Just remember,  every one ... EVERY SINGLE ONE ... of those people at the group has felt exactly like you!

THat is part of the social phobia.  And you are courageous because you know you see yourself as a bunch of negative things and know it is possible to change.

go pete go!
Go Pete Go!
GO! PETE! GO!
YA!

we are all cheering for you
