I experienced that, also, when I quit cold-turkey. Maybe not as stongly... I had boundless energy, too. If I slipped a smoke I lost that energy for four solid hours before it came back. Funny, this afternoon I was pondering why this quit is different. Hmm....
This time I'm quitting with gum. I can't help but think that this phenomena that we're discussing is mostly due to the nic. When I go too long between my "magic gum" I start feeling like my energy is building.
Looking to the future.....

Welcome, glad you're here.
I visit at least couple of times a day. I have my "morning meeting" and my "evening metting" and then times like these when I need some encouragement before starting dinner. I truly couldn't have made it this far without these fellow quitters!
I hope you find this board as valuable as I do.

I always wanted to be a doctor, but became and addict instead..... :(

Been on NRT since 1/14. I decided to kick the nic the other day and am on hour #66 of the 72 hr. detox. This is the most uncomfortable I've felt since the beginning.
I don't have the urge to smoke, but the herbal things I've been doing to keep feeling normal are not quite keeping me there. Sleep is not an option today, so I'm just hanging on knowing that it will pass. Anybody know when?
It feels like my face is caving in and my lips, nose and hands feel funny.
Thought posting and reading other posts would be a good idea just in case my inner junkie is trying to set me up!

Bypass,
Thanks for the reminder that a bad day can come out of no where and attempt to overcome us.
Nice work on the mood awareness!
