The Red Vine Disaster

I just have to rant! Things were going well in my quit. I had gain 5 or 6 lbs. and by day 24 I had began losing the excess weight. Man, was I feelin' good! Excited about slimming back down for Valentine's Day and showing off my new rhinestone thong for my newly-quit, non-smoking husband. Cool, this is going to be fun! Crap! I noticed a couple of days ago that I had started putting weight back on. I didn't stop to figure it out until today when I weighed and found I had hit an all-time high. ARGH!!!!!!! Looking at the nutrition panel of my Red Vines package, I found that it's those freakin' Red Vines I'd come to love as a non-smoker. I was pounding down 700-800 calories a day just with those. Sigh.....no time to take off the weight for my honey. I'm just gonna have to dim the lights a little...... thanks for listening....btw, I'm still smoke free. gpw My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/14/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 31 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 478 Amount Saved: $124 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 22 Mins: 49 Seconds: 4

Time to bow out

Hey Butterfly Swimmer, I'll miss your valuable insight. You have a quality quit happening. It's been nice to meet you. Good luck in school. gpw P.S. - If I were you, I'd take a serious look at making a decision to visit a quit group on a regular, but not so frequent, basis. Please consider seeing how one or two visits a week can fit in your lifestyle. I've seen it happen over and over. A person stops meeting with their support group and within days, weeks or months they are using again. I don't know about you, but I sure as heck don't want to do any R&D on this when so many have already done it for me. A Mountain Range Near The Beach

Thanks sniffle, sniffle I love you guys  I'll just pretend that I'm on a fresh quit and do all of the things I did WAY back then. ;) Things like: Drink LOTS of water Reward myself often. (Thanks, Shevie) Virtually LIVE WITH my support group Remember why I'm here Work out when I have extra energy - dance like a fool Think of my symptoms as a manifestation of detoxing The list goes on...and last, but not least - I KNOW I can do all of these things just for today. Then I'll deal with tomorrow when it gets here! Thanks, fellow quitters! I don't know where I'd be without my quit-buddies. gpw My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/14/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 87 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,315 Amount Saved: $348 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 2 Mins: 42 Seconds: 37

A Mountain Range Near The Beach

Here in Oregon we have a coastal mountain range that runs the length of the coastline. I'm climbing that now. Is it common to have cravings near 100 days (the beach)? For the past few days it's just as if I just quit again. The junkie is back, the physical restlessness is back - (but then my DH started smoking again)....but I haven't used NRT in over 60 days. I always notice that the quit is tougher when combined with PMS, but that is not an issue this week. Can someone shed some light on this phenomena? How much longer can I expect this to last? Thanks, gpw My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/14/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 87 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,314 Amount Saved: $348 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 2 Mins: 34 Seconds: 0
