Hey! today is my 5th day smoke-free!

Hi Nikita
The first four days are the worst; so hang on; try to sleep as much as you can and drink plenty of iced water; it helps a lot; grab a soft ball if you need to have something in your hands and try to relax with soft music.
Remember, this inconviniences pave the road for a great acomplishment; so please visit this site and post as often as needed(it has helped me a lot) and know for sure that here you have a support group that wants you and everybody to succed.
Welcome

Hell Week

Hi Lee
Something that helped me was taking  5 consecutive deep breaths, holding it as long as you can;  I slept more and listened
to soft music. I also carried a stress ball. And spent my free time posting and reading. And lots of ice water.
Congratulations on your decision to quit. You deserve a clean and healthy body.
It will get better!!!!

It is a Mental Battle

Hi Nikita
Hang on, remember one craving at a time; take deep breaths and remember, you are not leavng a friend, you are leaving an enemy; and cigarretes don't give pleasure, they kill.

Newbies please check in :)

Hi Aminee and Lee
Welcome; I'm a new quitter, with 27 days under my belt; this support group made the difference. I'm on Chantix, but I think that having a support group going trough the same process is fundamental for our success. Hang on, it will get better; do whatever you have to do but don't smoke. Drink ice water, sleep or excercise, listen to music, have your hands busy, eat sugar free hard candies; take really deep breaths when the nickodemon attacks, etc.
Make sure to work on my  program. You will get a better knowledge of your addiction and how to cope with your triggers and your cravings. Educate yourself; Read about our common enemy; And make qwuitting your first priority.
