Jan 23rd - Friday's Fantastic Quitters!

Hi Mr. Ed
I quit on jan 23 2009 at 4:00 P.M. after I attended an Allen Carr Seminar. I prepared myself one week before with chantix; Right now, I'm on Chantix and beside some side effects like a little nausea I'm feeling o.k. and happy because I decided  to beome a non-smoker.The first weekend(i quit on friday) I stayed in bede must of the tiome because I felt energy deprived.
I also downloaded some relaxation music and My first week has been better than the one I imagined. When a craving attacks me, I just shift my thoughts to a nicer one, like playing golf with Annika Sorenstam and Lorena Ochoa and beasting them (LOL).
I love this site and I will be in touch as much as I can.
Marivi

I QUIT ON JAN 23,2009

hI
I quit on jan 23,2009 after attending an allen carr seminar. I prepared myself to quit , taking Chantix the week before. My firs two days were energy drained, I stayed in bed most of the time. (Thank God I quit on Friday). I felt strange; I'm a really energetic person and that wasn't me.
I'm quitting because I don't want to be a slave anymore; I want to be a non-smoker, and not an ex=smoker; The seminar helped me to see cigarrettes as they are; they are not a solution, they are the main problem in my life.
I  have tried to quit several times, one with patches and one with Wellbutrin, but my longest quit lasted three days, but this
time I feel different and I  prepared myself.
I found this wonderful site and I didn't want to post until I passed my three days milestone, so here I am.. I've enjoyed reading the posts since my first day.
Greetings
Marivi

Not doing to well.

Hi MM!!!
I agree, chicken noodle is the best medicine in the world; also lying in bed with your favorite music is a plus.
I wish you a prompt recovery!!!

I hate this!!!

Don't worry too much about your weight; you're doing the right thing joining curves. I'm running 5 miles 5 days a week and a 45 min pilates routine 5 days a week. I'm planning to join weight watchers, just in case the weight begins to show. I like that program because it allows you to eat whatever you want  as long as you comply with the amount op points you are allowed eery day; they even give you extra points if you workout!!!.
God bless you

My First Post - Scared to Death

  1. Hi Dave
  2. I'm  on the fiftht day of my life as a non smoker, and as of today, I'm feeling all right; the first two days were awful; I had no energy so I spent the weekend in bed (I imagined I had the flu) listening to relaxing music; I'm on Chantix right now and I attended the Allen Carr seminar. So I'm ready to fight my demons and all the ilussions and misunderstandings that we have about cigarretes; they are not our friends, they do not give us support, or power, or energy. They are assasins that we hire to kill us; they are good at what they do, they disguise themselves as best friends.
  3.    So  quitting we are chosing life and freedom. I don't want to bee seen as third class citizen becaause of my nicotine addiction, and I'm tired of skipping the after diner conversations because I need as cigarrete.
  4. I want to become a non smoker not an ex-smoker
  5. Congratulations, you are three days ahead of me!!!

I hate this!!!

GOOD FOR YOU SPARKY!!!
THE HARDEST THING IS TO DECIDE TO DO SOMETHING!!!. 30 YEARS AGO I OVERCAME MY FOOD ADDICTION; I WAS 240 POUNDS ANDE ONE DAY I DECIDED I DIDN'T WANT TO BE OVERWEIGHT ANYMORE. THE OTHER PART OF THE STORY IS THAT I FELL IN LOVE WITH CIGARRETTES, BUT MY EXPERIENCE WITH FOOD WILL TAKE ME TO OVERCOME THIS NASTY ADDICTION(I WISH IT WITH ALL MY HEART).
SO KEEP IT GOING, !!!!
